Win rate below 50%. 600 hours. why so?

I’ve already gained 600 hours of experience, and I don’t feel like I’m such a bad player, well, at least not below average, but I’ve been frustrated for a long time by the fact that I’m always the only player in the lobby with a win rate below 50%. literally, I checking stats of players of curiosity.

and it wouldn’t be so frustrating if there was a moderate alternation of wins and losses. but instead, I get a series of victories, which I feel is a long-awaited fair reward, and then a series of defeats up to more than ten, which again lower me to the most emotional bottom. with every game I lose, I get worse and worse, because I stop believing in success, and this makes my game even worse.

I like the game, but I wish, if not to please with victories, as almost everyone in the rating experiences, then at least to balance it so that it does not seem to me that I deserve only to lose.

mostly I’m playing at plat and diamond, mostly as healer. win rate is 46%.

If you’re dropping ranks then it makes sense. If not then the game probably thinks you’re a smurf so it won’t punish you for losses as much as it rewards you for wins.

I have seen many other players with bad winrates though. Some guy was blaming me for throwing and I checked his profile and he was like 7 and 25 on the hero he was playing.

This suggests that you’re about the right rank. If your win rate is between 45-55%, you’re in the right ball park, just maybe had a few more unlucky games than lucky ones.

Would also suggest, given the hours, that you’re not improving any more.

Nothing weird to see there. The next steps are up to you. Ignore it and just enjoy playing or grind on improvements and climb.

Time means nothing to skill. I’ve played this game for thousands of hours. I’m still just gold. Could I get higher, maybe. If I learned every character. But I won’t do that. I only play a handful of characters, per role. Nor am I really interested in rank. I just do it to get a gun skin.

Time needs to be mixed with work and effort to improve. But yes, just playing for the sake of playing won’t be enough.

do you autopilot your games ?

Sounds to me like you keep tilt queuing, and that would be a reason you’re stuck

I agree on that. That’s why I don’t care about rank anymore. I know I won’t get higher. Knowing only 12 heroes.

thanks for the answers, I ended up stopping playing this game.

So… Stop?

First off, just as a person, a game is supposed to be fun. if it’s causing stress and frustration, turn it off and do something else. It’s good for you. You don’t owe anyone OW game time.

Second, you’re right, getting tilted makes your gameplay worse. So if you keep on queueing you’re just gonna get more and more losses piled up, making the situation worse.

It’s not that big a deal, brother. There’s no prizes. No payout for Good At Overwatch. You won’t get cars or scholarships, people you want to date aren’t going to fling themselves into your arms if you get a 55% winrate or something. The only reward is getting better at a game.

Relax, only play when it’s fun, and remember that the goal is just to get better at whatever NanoPunk Superhero cartoon character you picked today.
