Win 7 in a row and

Go from bronze 1 to bronze 1. Complete monkey algorithm

Did you leave any match/es?
happened to me and my friend too (2 times in a row)

No, my record is 14 wins in a row. Went from bronze 4 to bronze 4. I use to be plat so I barely lose

The screen that shows your seven wins doesn’t show any of your losses. You probably lost games and just don’t realize it.

Either that, or they take scores into account. Like if you and the other teams were neck and neck every match, they assume you’re right where you belong.

Also, I’d imagine the leaderboards are going through hell reshuffling everyone who got put in bronze 5 with the bug. Give it a couple weeks.

You do realize that it is also performance based, right? No more afking and coinflipping games in hopes that your team will carry you. You actually have to do stuff in your lobbies to earn a rank up.

I highly doubt he’s afking his way to 7 wins in a row…

Wasn’t it always skill based until masters?

That is not what I am claiming he is doing, that is what I am claiming a performance-based system is preventing.

What?

Overwatch 1 had skill based mmr which compared your played heroes vs other players around the mmr. Which is why people who did a lot of hero swapping mid-game would have reduced sr because it is comparing your stats to all other players who also used those heroes.

After you hit masters the individual skill no longer had a heavy influence on your rank gains and losses.

My man can’t read well but still commented lol

Absolutely not. No idea where you got this information from. If you lost a game, you lose SR. Doesn’t matter.

Why did you play ranked so quickly?

I’m not playing until Kiriko is available and the servers are 100% stable… quickplay is plenty fun in the meantime.

I’m getting 15k wins 1 tricking McCree. I know my wins. Plat-Diamond with widow before this bronze takeover

It never really worked that well, though we haven’t exactly worked out if anything changed with OW 2. First off if the 7 matches are part of your placements, you can never get more than a few hundred SR over your last seasons match, if OW stuff carries over. I haven’t kept up on all the details of that.

If not the other thing to consider is the performance based rewards, which are heavily slanted towards lone wolf DPS types. More kills, more dmg, more healing etc = good performance.

Staying on the objective, pushing a cart or only healing people when they need it however is not. Rezing some one so they die instantly after is good for “performance” because it gets you a rez. Not so good for the team.

I made a Mercy only account during season 4 and it placed me in silver. At first my losses and wins got me about 50sr difference. However the more I played, and the better my stats I would get -10sr per loss and +100sr per win because my stats were in line with a diamond Mercy not silver.

In Overwatch 2 I placed silver on healer and after a few days I am now platinum, probably going to hit diamond soon. Overwatch 1 and Overwatch 2 are still using the same skill based system.

lol theyre literally not but ok

This was literally just how games after your initial placements worked. This is not an indicator of a performance-based system. You are not bright.

This is called an MMR boost.

Nah dude you are the one who isn’t bright. Yes win streaks and loss streaks matter, but it also compared player stats on individual heroes during the match. I even remember a reading statement released by the dev team saying they were reducing the influence of stats on the overall game and sr system, and basically removed stat influence in masters+ games. They simply brought it back in full swing. Even team rating vs the enemy had a influence on how much sr you got. The idea that Overwatch 1 only used win and loss streaks as a deciding factor, and how OW2 is just now using stats as a determining factor is beyond the pale.

Another example is how the game placed me in GM using only hamster around his release on Overwatch 1 despite never playing vs any grand masters, never hitting grand master before and only having about a 40% win rate. The reason is because despite me struggling to get a win, my individual stats on hamster was superior to most other hamsters at the time (there wasn’t many of them), so it placed me unreasonably high.

until diamond.

Sounds like you performed like a Bronze 1 player. Winning 7 games isn’t a guaranteed rank up. You know you can even derank as well?

There it is, I was wrong about when the influence stopped but I knew it was a factor in the games mmr/sr system.
