Simple really, Supports don’t want to take cover and just want to damage/heal with no consequences as they have no way of countering a one shot but can counter many of the dps characters with Suzu lamp plus self heal etc
DPS mainly non hitscan apart from some want widow nerfed so they can jump/Fly around and throw mines/rockets and survive with a sliver of health rather then being deleted instantly
Or wraith form in and shotgun people point blank
Or dive the back line with a small hitbox character and not get one shotted with a quick flick
Tanks outside the shields don’t want burst headshotted or their supports deleted and die due to lack of heals

Because people think that they should be able to two shot her across the map as kiriko every single time with no consequence. They are literally clueless to as how the game should operate. I can 100% guarantee this guy just got stomped on by a widow within the past hour and he is just looking for an echo chamber to help cope. hey op, try aim practice. maybe even try thinking

Honestly I would’ve agreed on the widow hate if I hadn’t of tried her after the hanzo nerfs s9

nah i play hanzo but he’s so bad right now it hurts. everything is so slow and terrible.

Hanzo is great currently, anyway nice to meet a fellow shimmada.
The draw time hurts but atleast we are back to 95% of pre s9 power.
Not at all I just like mechanical aim skills etc I’m not interested in ranked or playing this game comp etc
I’m very bad when it comes to game sense
I can play most hitscan but prefer hanzo he just feels harder and more rewarding to me
But that’s just me

Mcree can’t really kill hanzo nor does he have his range nor mobility his consistency is a huge price to pay for the loss of freedom compared to hanzo and you can actually tank bust without putting yourself in danger.
Hanzo is better than Cassidy in the right hands he just takes way more skill.

One shots are inherently unhealthy in a game like Overwatch. Widow can pick squishies off with minimal risk to herself. If the dps are dead, then the tank can’t do their job, and if the tank can’t do their job then we just lose.
It has nothing to do with “not wanting to take cover and just heal/deal damage with no consequence”.
They’re really not clueless as to how the game should operate since one shots shouldn’t be a thing.
If the counterplay is either hide, or kill the Widow before she kills you, then that’s not really counterplay. You’ve given the player two choices, and they both suck.

i kind of dont see her getting nerfed since it would yea they do balance at the top but widow the exception where it would hurt most of the players if a heavy nerf.
the slap on the wrist or the minor nerf would be to revert her old hitbox to the original. that might be the nerf if one at all
unless of course they just want to remove the hero from the meta no matter if dumpstered
i wouldnt mind a rework to make her more like ashe with a FAST fire rate but reduced damage w/o the charge mechanic. i always liked DMRs in fps (designated marksman sniper rifles) basically a hybrid sniper/assualt rifle
still if they keep on nerfing burst damage they will have to nerf sustain and supports. balance effects the overall of things. somebody has to do the killing

I can’t see her without one shot one kill and she is vital to the game even if people see her as a villain.
She is a part of the original four founders of Hogwarts (overwatch ) she is just Slytherin while tracer is gryffindor

You know I find this very interesting,
Yesterday I was playing some QP
We had a HOG,Widow(me) , Ashe, ana , life weaver
Up against Doomfist, hanzo, junkrat, ana , kiriko
I hit two clean shots and my whole game I was focused, pressured and punched around like some ragdoll
Our hog wasn’t bad but Doom was just way better, when I finally got clear sight lines there was no one to hit as the supports used cover and took pot shots at different angles and managed to win the game by averting my gaze and pressuring me with doom, hanzo and junk rat spam
Now I did the whole stay back far away approach but there hanzo was just on my case
I’m not a bad widow but even I was like wtf is everyone complaining she’s OP for
People are sick of playing against Widow. Its that simple. She cant be interacted with, is not telegraphing anything, one-shots most of the cast and creates a boring gameplay loop.

Think about this lineup for a moment, then rethink this
Your team composition made it easy for Doom, Hanzo, and Junkrat. A good widow will have their team build around them to ensure that they aren’t easily pressured.
Being one-tapped from 40m away because you peeked a corner will never not be unhealthy.
