Will Tracer and Soldier have a "moment"?

It means exactly as you think it means given these two. The reason I ask this, though, isn’t because I want to see gay scenes. My question is how will it be censored? Overwatch (and Blizzard in general) has quite a following in the PRC, but obviously, many games are modified to be passed for public entertainment.

What will Blizzard do if a scene is included? Remove it? Change context? Will the campaign not be included on release?

(No, this post isn’t to spark debate. Just conversation on censorship.)

[Edit #1: A couple comments think I’m alluding to sex. I am not. I mean anything involving kissing or romantic sentiments pass]

Honestly as a gay person myself I don’t care if they release it for us but censor it in China/Russia. Like I really don’t care, I will be glad if it’s shown at all in the PvE campaign just hope its written well.

That’s cool with me. I’m just wondering how it will be censored. Censorship is inevitable, so I’m wondering how it will be done.

There are several websites that you could check out if this is what you’re into. This is 100% irrelevant to the actual game.

Given that Overwatch 2 will come with cutscenes, I’d say it’s completely relevant. Censorship fascinates me, and I’m wondering how they will do it.

Why would it be relevant for a shooter game to show sex scenes?
I mean, is this real? Is this what drives people?

Do you also wonder if they will show Hammond’s sex scenes?

I NEVER SAID THAT
I meant moment as in being heartfelt or a kiss scene.

Overwatch is rated T, there are currently no mature scenes in the game.

We’ve seen Tracer and Emily kiss a couple times in comics. We haven’t seen Soldier do anything other than be in a picture with his ex-boyfriend though.

Useless game lore whose only point is to get people to buy comic books, figurines, and blizzcon tickets… I wish I could turn off the dumb banter at the start of matches. It’s so cheezy and annoying.

Who said that? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

They’d replace “girlfriend/boyfriend” with just “friend”. Kissing scenes etc. they’d either crop out/remove or change them to be a hug or something.

Unfortunately, the censorship for that was banning the comic as a whole. That’s what kinda worries me for Overwatch 2, at least its campaign.

heh i dont expect that kind of stuff with this game. it was rated “T” for teens and is basically like your everyday saturday morning cartoon show

i play cyberpunk and some other indie games that are “MATURE” so yea i am always curious about sex scenes in those games. hell even baldur’s gate 3 has some raunchy romance stuff

To repeat myself, I meant “moment” as in a kiss or heartfelt scene.

oh sorry probably didnt read the whole post as usual…

i am interested if mercy and genji will have some romance moments? sombra seems to have a budding relationship with sigma so thats cool… dont think its romantic tho seems like just good friend concerns

all for pve i mean

o yea there was that voice line interaction between tracer and brig (in beta 2). tracer asking brig if she was “seeing someone” and her being all shy about it. maybe we’ll see something in pve about that

Yeah true. Honestly I don’t think there will be much romance in general in the PvE cutscenes (like i doubt there will be any straight kisses either). But if Soldier or Tracer have any heartfelt moments, it will probably be a situation where it can be interpreted as either romantic or platonic. Unfortunately it’s hard for explicitly LGBT scenes to occur without getting censored or backlash, so I’m not really sure what they’re gonna do.

Hey I’d be down if they added a smut scene between Sombra and Tracer.

Really help forward the character depth.

There’s more than enough of that on the internet… not that it’s relevant to the conversation about censorship.

tracer would probably shoot her down tho…
