At the start of Season 10, I noticed changes of the weekly challenges and thought it was a good idea. However, as a casual player, I still find it difficult to earn full rewards.
The key issue is the “8 progressison levels” challenge. Since the new leveling system was implemented, I’ve consistently played Overwatch each week, so the levels of my mian heroes are quite high: I have 9 heroes at level 15 or higher, with 5 above level 19. So, when I want to complete the 8 progression levels challenge, I have to play other heroes. But leveling heroes between 10 to 14 is still not easy, and I barely play those who are at lower levels, even playing them in QP makes me feel uncomfortable.
As a casual player, I cannot complete the challenge of 30 competitive matches. I can’t handle the stress of competitive matches, I just want to play the game casually.
Previously, I only complete 10 or 11 of the weekly challenges, missing out on a tier of rewards but losing only 10 coins, while I can still gaining most of the 50 coins.
However, now, the last two tiers each offer 10k XP, and I can easily complete the other four weekly challenges (if I log in daily and complete every daily challenges). Therefore, if I don’t continue with the fifth weekly challenge, I lose a lot of XP, this makes me feels bad.
To level up progression levels, I need to keep playing the same hero in one game, and repeat many games. I think this goes against the designers’ original intention of encouraging players to play different heroes, rather than being locked into one hero you don’t play often for a long time.
So I hope the Progression Levels Challenge can be optimized, based on the length of time a player has been playing. Because the longer a player has been playing, the harder this task becomes, this makes me feel anxious. (I’ve seen many other threads also takling about this.)
Or simply adding more weekly challenges that make it easier for players to earn the full 25k XP would also be helpful.
Sorry for my bad English but I really want to give feedback on this.
