I never got the 2017 player icon back in 2017 and it hasn’t unlocked since then. It should’ve by now seeing as icons are blue. I have 2018 and 2019.
Yea I feel like something like that should be auto-unlocked on new years day or something. Not just randomly thrown into the loot pool for a few weeks prior and left up to RNG to get what is literally a once in a lifetime cosmetic (even if it is something small, it is still something).

There are some things that when missed you can never get. Top 500 sprays, Blizzcon skins etc.

It’s just like the summer games 2016 or Halloween terror 2016 icons if you didn’t get em that year of the event then you won’t ever be able to get it
But this was before the drop rates were changed so everything was harder to get back then. That sucks though
