So I have wanted to buy some OWL team skins for a while and have the league tokens to do so, however I was saving just in case something better comes out. I bought the Chengdu Hunters skin before it left since it would be rare. Does anyone know if the team skins will disappear and become rarer with the release of OWCS?
No one knows but the team themed skins won’t have much reason to be sold.

Eh. If Blizzard are smart, they’ll release those skins for cheap in the Store.

Yeah I am a fan of the Spitfires and wanted to buy their skins, but I was waiting for a legendary instead but I would rather wait on that and get the team skins if they are gonna go. Thanks for your help guys!

Because I want to buy Defiant skin for Mercy. They were my fav team.
It is possible that they may do last sale for team based legendaries since they are not available at all times but who knows.
They should just put them in the store or make them available forever for Overwatch credits.
If they was smart, they’d resell all OWL skins again for a short period. People hate missing out on stuff and if they know they will never return, quick money. I guess we shall see
That didn’t even cross my mind- thank you. But since the league credits are mainly micro transactions then why would blizzard remove them since that is a wasted opportunity for money, maybe they will remove the league skins and swap them for the new teams that participate in OWCS
there’s gonna be way too many teams in owcs afaik to have team based skins
like with the league model they had a maximum of like 20 teams
owcs is open and basically anyone can compete and there’ll be like 50+ teams
I don’t mean every entry level team will get their skins but maybe as it progresses- maybe the finalists have their skins launched until the next OWCS finals
I hope they are still sold, but updated with a giant “cancelled!” across the skin.
I would buy that.
