There are some people, including me, who are running 5 year old pc’s.
will overwatch 2 releasing a graphics update for overwatch1, ruin the game for people on low end pc’s?
I wouldnt worry about it. Blizz is pretty good about letting almost any machine run thier games
I’d be worried, but I’m getting a new laptop with a real graphics card today so I should be good. 60fps here I come
Also OW2 graphics are only for purchasers. But I’m sure they’ll tone down the graphics accordingly
I have been trying to find out but don’t have any answers yet. As pure speculation, I am anticipating the minimum system requirements will increase slightly based on what they showed in the Evolving the Art panel from BlizzCon.
Yes and no.
The requirements will more likely increase but for the PvP part, you are still in 1 map with max 12 players there.
In PvE it will probably cause issues or lower FPS than before, because they are adding a lot of “bots” there and the graphics are better but they did a great job making OW work on 60fps in almost any rig or console so if you are only interested in OW PvP, you will likely do fine.
PS: If you are pushing for 120fps+ , its more likely to be worse.
Pretty sure I heard info saying they haven’t decided if OW1 will get the new graphic updates or not yet. And also if they were to you might have the option to swap back to old OW1 if you wanted to.
It has been confirmed that Overwatch 1 players will be updated to the new graphics engine and both Overwatch 1 and Overwatch 2 players will share the same game client.
This might mean I will dip below 300 steady fps once in a while.
Shame.
Who knows, since they don’t communicate.
Both options will be there probably, but if they don’t add it, you have 2 years to earn some cash and get another low end PC thats better than your current one. Blizzard is good at optimizing , theres a very good chance there wont be the need for upgrading. We will know more as development advances
It’s still the same engine so I doubt it would cause any problems.
OW minimum requirements consist of a processor that was introduced back in 2007. By my math that is 12 years! You should include your specs so people like me can give you a better idea where you stand.
Assuming you are running better than a 1st gen i3 save up some scratch and get you the 1660ti. You’ll be good to go.
R9 280x 3 gigs video ram graphics card
A10 5800K Amd APU 4 cores @3.8 ghz
16GB ddr3 ram @1600mhz
windows 10
I’m worried as a base ps4 user. Character models already have trouble loading when selecting skins at the start of a game or during potg
Jeff said during blizzcon that ow 1 gets the graphic update as well.
Cause both ow 1 and ow 2 share PVP mode.
If I remember correctly Jeff said they have new engine thus everyone has to update the game.
You know it will.
This is blizzard we’re talking about. They don’t hold back on the art.
Based on what I’ve heard about it, OW2 will use a modified version of the OW1 engine. While I wouldn’t count on it, that could mean increased optimization, meaning minimum system requirements could go down.
I wouldn’t even bet on it though. Odds are system requirements will go up, though likely only by a small amount.
Sadly, yeah, this is a concern for my potato of a computer that doesn’t even run this game well at all. Could be time to bow out if things get any worse with OW2.
