In the server I play on (xbox asia), there aren’t much people playing so I’m always playing with the same people every game and I can never find a comp or arcade game. It gets really boring playing with the same people all over again and the queue time take more than 10 mins. Overwatch is my most favorite game but this isn’t what I signed up for ;(
You could always try using a VPN and changing it to a different region. I’m not entirely sure how they pick which servers to connect you to on console, but it likely either goes by your IP address or your console’s region.
If I remember correctly it’s either based on your ip address or the location your internet router displays
You can play Overwatch on other servers using console but you need to queue with a couple friends from that ‘different’ server.
I have done it multiple times on PS4
The game will always route you to the closest server that was determined. But I can only assume if 2 or more players in that group are on a different server it switches that route to their closest.
How do you use a VPN for an xbox?
That’s when there’s bad lag though from my past experiences.
I didn’t guarantee the best performance. I just confirmed there is a way around it
Fair enough. Didn’t mean to offend.
It bothers me just a LITTLE bit. A little.
Blizzard revolves around PC gaming. It’s been like that for years and years. Even a decade.
The best option is getting a cheap laptop with decent WiFi.
???
Diablo 3 was released to consoles, Overwatch released to consoles, some of the original RTS games were released on consoles, the Lost Vikings game was on consoles. Blizzard may never have been king on consoles, but they’ve had a presence. Not sure what your comment has to do with OP’s post though. They asked for a way to play on other servers.
Anyways, considering that people can use Kb+mouse on consoles too, I see no reason why a player couldn’t play on pc servers except for technical reasons or legal reasons. Wish it was possible for them to even play cross-console too, that would broaden the pool.
@OP, I think you’d have to set up a VPN via your router. It could be possible through the console, but I don’t have any current gen consoles, so I couldn’t advise you on that
