Will Overwatch 2 Anniversary Date Change?
we must first understand if the same concept of “event” will exist in OW2. more specifically:
- does it make sense to be archives if they have declined this role to challenges with short stories (bastet, code of violence …)?
- does it make sense to talk about anniversary after they treated this event like a skin slot machine?
- do we actually have any idea how battle passes could be handled alongside events? it is not an excludable thing.
and finally we must say that Ow2, as it was imagined … is not exactly that “ready” product that was promised. not yet, at least: competitive? pace of content? balance management? clan system? management of new entries in the roster? the new types of cosmetics?
there is definitely too much to define to go back to having “Ow” in the proper sense of its contents and how it manages to entertain the community.
I’d assume not because
a) October is when the Halloween event will run
and
b) The current anniversary timing conveniently fits into a spot of the year where an event should go
I say no because ow2 is replacing ow1. It’s more of a big update rather than its own new thing.

I feel like the anniversary runs more than once a year but that’s probably just the ever increasing passing of time.
