I have a 2000 hours overwatch account recently got banned because blizzard believes I have used cheating programs. But the fact is I have never ever used any cheating programs. I don’t want to lose my 2000 hour account.
After this ban occurred, I thought so hard what I did to make them think I cheated. The only thing I can think of which may be detected as cheating is that my mouse (logitech G502) comes with a dpi switch function. I mis-clicked on that button for a few times during this 2000 hours play. Since this happens so rare, I didn’t bother to unbind that button. But I have never clicked on that button intentionally to gain any advantage. In fact, every time I mis-clicked on that button, I only play worse due to sudden change in dpi. So objectively, I didn’t gain any advantage neither.
I really want to know whether dpi switch will result in account closure or not. If this is truly the reason, though I would still feel it is unfair to me, I take it. I will treat this as a huge lesson.
Update: The ban got overturned. So dpi switch won’t get you banned at least if you dont do that intentionally.
