A lot of my favourite skins are limited editions ones (San Francisco Doomfist and Bastet Ana especially).
I was looking to change from console to PC at some point, but with no form of crossplay or file transfer, I’ll have to re-earn all of my cosmetics…
Meaning I can never get my favourite skins again.
I know it kind of defeats the purpose of limited edition, but is there any chance time limited skins will reappear? Either as a part of future anniversary events or as a standalone event?

Doubt it because there will be uproar over it which I’m kinda like the scales of justice I weigh both sides.
Meaning I agree on both sides

Highly doubt it. And I hope they never do. There are 3 in particular I’d love to have, but I want to respect the fact that limited edition skins are limited for a reason. Let’s not take the uniqueness of them out and make them just another skin. Sorry mate.
No?? Thats the point of Limited Skins
The weekly event epic skins though, that might be different, we will find out when summer games returns to see what they do with the weekly epic skins

I don’t really think they will return, but i still kinda hope they do.
Actually the point of them is to make additional income based on people’s fear of missing out.
But as a marketing practice, it doesn’t make sense to tell people they’re not allowed to pay you money for something that has no replication cost. It would make more sense for them to randomly allow people to buy the skins again in the future with no set date as for when they could next get the skins. That way they’d still be limited editions, players could grab the skins they want and Blizzard would get more money. Win - Win - Win.
Setting an arbitrary limitation on something tens of thousands of people already own does not make the skins more unique. The skins are unique because they’re created in order to celebrate something or because their design is influenced by something.

I honestly don’t think they’ll return, but I wouldn’t care at all of they came back one day. And this is coming from somebody who hasn’t missed a single one. Bring 'em back someday, I won’t care
I’m in the same boat as you. I’m hoping that OW2 has cross play and implements a way for you to combine accounts.
I know console players don’t want to play against PC players, but with PC players in PvE? No one will have an issue with that, and Blizzard could drop queue times to almost nothing for the PvE side if they implemented that. Since the latest Call Of Duty did it and they are published by the same parent company as Overwatch, I’d be very surprised if Overwatch 2 didn’t have these features too.
Call of Duty also has a really good way of doing it as well.
Allow console players to use the integrated keyboard and mouse functions so no one has to cheat to use them. Then separate K&M players and remote players for comp game modes. (You could probably justify letting them play together for quickplay)
