Will blizzard ban you for speaking Japanese ?
Recently EA banned a Japanese player for saying " run away" in Japanese
According to google translate, my guess he got banned is because it sounds like a certain no no word that starts with N
Not entirely because of it being in Japanese
You will not bait me
Just like in korean, the word âyouâ in korean is literally the baddie n-word
So bottom line is a Japanese player gets banned for speaking his native language because of a low IQ person who does not know the language?
all this time i thought i couldnt understand rap, turns out they were speaking japanese.
" dangsin" is korean word for you.
Blizzard didnât ban anyone for this afaik
This is probably it, but it actually sounds nothing like the no no word. The romanized spelling of the word does look like it, but it is actually pronounced different.
It sounds more like (knee-gay-row) if used in command form. I donât know how to properly do phonetic spelling so put in actual words that are more in line with the pronunciation.
Edit: pronunciation above is wrong. That is the group volitional conjugation of the verb instead of the command conjugation. The proper pronunciation is in a post later in this thread.
That said, I donât know why people would speak Japanese over comms other than as some sort of weird multi-lingual flex.
Or why a Japanese player would type it romaji because they think their teammate couldnât read English. Or why it wasnât the Japanese player themself that posted it but someone reporting it 2nd hand. TBH
Regardless, thatâs Apexâs problem
" dangsin" is korean word for you.
Thereâs also another word that can mean the same thing which is the one I was talking about, at least thatâs what a native korean speaker told me
Blizzard is basically âThorâ level of of ban hammer crazyâŠ
So if you seen recent movies⊠You understand.
Just picture Blizz as Thor playing FortniteâŠ
And realize thatâs whose in charge.
Act according to that.
No, because it sounds like the n-word
When you say something, people will assume itâs in English before thinking itâs another language
Yeah typing it out in romaji is even more weird. If it were actually spoken I donât think anyone would mistake it for the n-word unless the person saying it absolutely butchered the pronunciation.
Typing stuff in romanji is usually some English speaker flexing some cool ânihongoâ they learned in a university class. Or google translate.
And the second one I saw where someone was like âThis isnât even in Romaji and it got banned!â was someone put the word in Katakana. And thatâs apparently a tweezer company and a google image result shows a bunch of tweezers. My Japanese is very rusty and was never good to begin with, but seems like it would been typed éăăor ă«ăă instead. And thatâs what my phone keeps trying to correct to when I swap the keyboard to Japanese and type in all lowercase. Could just be a capslock error too though. Regardless it is the name of a brand of tweezers (Niegeloh)
Which makes me suspect this 2nd email is a fake.
Edit
The romaji and Katakana usage here strike me as very odd and Iâm skeptical about this story
Yes, thatâs correct. ëê° is one way to specify you and is comprised of the syllables ni and ga.
why did you do this
now people will say this and say "oh no guys I am just saying ââ in another language not that word

My Japanese is pretty rusty also. Itâs been over a decade since I lived there.
Agreed, I have no idea why someone would spell out the command to run in katana as it isnât a foreign word. Thatâs even weirder than romaji.
And I donât know why they would be talking about a Japanese brand of tweezers either.
Wonât stop then from getting banned if they receive enough reports. Just because someone thinks they are clever by scapegoating a different language doesnât mean the people they are insulting are stupid enough to not realize whatâs going on.
Nope.
Its actually âëê°â (written ë€ê°) not âëčì â
Former is an informal form of you
