Which format do you think benefits the most from hero bans? I think it’s probably 5v5 mostly because it can really help solve the counter swapping issue for tanks. Perks seems to have really lowered the amount of counter swapping but hero bans should take it a step further. The most obvious example is if someone wants to play Dva then they can ban Zarya and don’t have to deal with that frustration.
I don’t know what’s better, but I’m almost certain it’ll be net-positive for 6v6 open queue. But even though it’s a net-positive, I’m still uncertain whether it’ll “feel good” for support players since only like half of the roster is strong, the rest (mercy, moira, life weaver etc) are meh and I’d even put illari on that list after the S9 changes.
But to be fair, baptiste feels so much stronger and more flexible and viable in 6v6 open queue (compared to 5v5 role queue). So even if 2 supports gets banned, there’d still be kiriko/ana/baptiste/juno who can all deal good amount of damage and also do high healing. Zen would be on the high carry hero list too technically, but you stil need another support to do main healing.
So ban system for 6v6 open queue, definitely net-positive. For 5v5 role queue? I’m not sure yet but we’ll wait and see.
Definitely 5v5. Your vote matters more and it’s pretty obvious who to ban depending on who your tank plays. In 6v6, I am just going to ban Sombra because, like, what else am I going to do? Completely abstain? Nah. Crybabies got the system here, I might as well use it.
