Wifeleaver is an amazing support

Just wanted to put that out there. He wasn’t perfect on release or anything, and he needed some time and work but I like where he is right now. Mostly.

His utility is a great change of pace from other one-dimensional supports who have their heal button and then some damage button.

He feels like a TRUE “support.” Utility is needed in the support roster, because supporting should be a whole lot more than just holding down your heal button when allies take damage. Wifeleaver does this very well imo.

8.5/10

Just one thing, does anyone feel like he gets his ultimate ridiculously fast at times?
That’s really the only thing “concerning” I’ve noticed about him so far.

Yes but he eats both supports ult charge. It fun to play with him as another support. No Ults for you

Luckily his ult ends fights

He was atrocious on release. He needed like 40 buffs just to get to viable. And honestly his kit is still clunky and could use some retooling to get it to work better.

As someone who has had him as a secondary main alongside Brig, I can say he is a bit too strong right now.

He was fine in the previous patch. Confused about how the devs kept saying he had low survivability yet prior to his buffs I usually only died once or twice a round with him.

The problems he had/has are that it’s hard for him to do damage and heal fluidly. I would’ve just given him a damage over time poison on his primary. Also instead of increasing his heal, just lessen the time it takes to charge it or given it a faster travel time instead.

Honestly I feel like whilst his buffs made him stronger they didn’t really fix his issues. His carry potential is all passive and relies on teammates.

To me he was a loserweaker and now he seems good. I do love to see some change on his prim.

He’s too defensive. People are starting to complain about high sustain in the game now, which is how they are making him competitively viable. The problem is that defensive/sustain value is just naturally weak, so it easily gets out of hand and unreasonable if you try to buff it to compete with offensive value on other heroes.

I said at the start to not just gigabuff all his numbers to unreasonable levels to make him viable. Healing numbers have little to do with individual hero balance, its more to set the pacing of team fights. Using it to make LW viable threatens the overall pacing of the game. Support balance should primarily be done with their synergies and offensive value, not raw healing numbers.

I think the slow after holding the blossom for 1s should be removed entirely

The only piece of his kit that really needs addressing is the reload speed when moving between healing and damge.

Maybe a little more of an increase in numbers on thorn volley if you can hit headshots cos it still feels a bit weak.

Life Weaver is way too alien for me to use. I see virtually no strategic value in most of what he does, so I never pick him.

The pull is really strong if you’re good at reading the situation.
Especially against tank ultimates. He can really mess up your shatter/flux/grav/terra surge if you don’t catch him with it.

Sure, he’s amazing.

At pissing me off.

Still too many trolls/griefers misusing grip and platform for memes or passive/aggressive nonsense. I reached the point where if someone picks him, I instinctively start positioning myself out of their LoS the entire game and just play like I have no support, just to avoid getting gripped and platformed.

Delete the whole hero, imho.

I love playing him but I feel like he’s a little too strong also! His tree feels super good to use now but it provides too much. AoE healing, cover and mad overhealth. Brigs Rally sucks in comparison… Her ult is so lame man :skull:

The new meta looks to be lifeweaver and Illari though (nerfs dependent) and they’re calling it photosynthesis cos of their synergy!

He’s good, into the right teams. Don’t think he’s a great support like sniper granny into every comp in any situation with every playstyle. It’s very easy to overrun him and become useless. Especially when the opponent runs Genji and he decides that LW will not have any fun in that match.

I don’t get how Lifeweaver is the target of sustain complaints when his sustain outside of ult is lower than, say, Ana. Baptiste, too

This is my issue with his last round of buffs. I’m fine with them making tree better, but the 2 big survivability buffs he got were not needed when he already died less than other supports.

Tree was an awful ult. You needed 3 trees to get it overall to more than 1k healing on average. Even now it makes maybe up for 10-15% of my overall heal as LW. And since he can’t really fight back as much as other support, being a bit harder to kill is only fair.

Like I said, tree buffs are fine. But they gave the support with the least deaths per game 2 big survivability buffs.

Lmao that fits so perfectly no wonder they go so well together.

First: +1 for the word play! :+1:
In which combos/maps do you play Lifeweaver? I find him clunky and his kit feels slow somehow. I can heal much faster and more direct with Ana or Moira or even Kiriko. Last one do I prefer because of her mobility.
I have problems with Baptiste or Lifeweaver, somehow I can’t squeeze enough heal/support out of them. ^^"
