She’s supposedly been modified and brainwashed though, so she’s still at least compelled to do things. But all signs do point to there being something there, she reacts to things too complexly to be operating on simple zombie brainwashing.

Not surprising, Ana was her hero, then she grows up to realise what an atrocious mother she was. Then finds out she’d faked her death on top of this.
And then finds Ana doesn’t want Sam to know she’s not dead either.
Ana is a terrible person.
