The issue with rolling widowmaker in any bracket that’s not laughable, is that if the enemy team is going to do anything threatening, it’s going to involve 1 out of 2 things.
They’re going to run shield tanks and crap maybe zarya idk, in order to facilitate their entry onto the point, and good luck being useful through those.
Maybe if ur team has good shield break. Maybeeeee. But then they’ll just Zarya.
They’ll run dive on your time. And when I say they’ll dive you, I mean they’ll be diving YOU. And the messed up part is that this is actually the prefersble of the 2 scenarios since at least this way u might be able to make some picks, with whatever aim u got cookin that compelled u to roll widow in the first place.
People this doesn’t apply to: Kephri, that kid on Dynasty, that guy Kephri thought was hacking that one time, and people running attack widowmaker (because u already know what you’re doing. Right?)
Agreed. Playing Defense widow is probably the most painful thing ever. Because it actually gives the other team even more reason to kill you aside from the fact that you might be doing good. On attack if they are going to dive you that means they can’t help the rest of the team defend the point from my team.
Widow has always been like this though. Since S1, either incredibly effective or close to useless. She’s still a popular choice for attacking the first point in most long assualt/hybrid maps.
Widow would not face the same problems on attack because no defending team worth their salt is going to try to dive an attacking widow on the back line.
At least on Defense u have the advantages that the maps usually give to the defending widow in terms of positioning
Its basically hello, I know nothing about widowmaker but when enemy has dive or shields its widow only problem because game supposed to be played 1v6: the post. Also out of all things picking Zarya against widow is efficently throwing.
If u think widow is easier on attack than defense, it’s bevause your widow positioning and IQ is sloppy. Good widowmakers know how to use the advantages that defense usually gives them to slip the back line dive, or make the flanking Tracer’s life that much harder
The pros push back to reposition when they CANT make the kill. This occurs because pros are good at not getting killed.
Because pro widows are good at using the advantages the defense usually brings them to slip the dive or make a flanking Tracer’s life difficult.
Usually they’re looking for the kill.
Furthermore, the reason u baddies don’t understand why widow is better and on defense, and u think she works better on attack, that’s bevause you don’t actually play widow, which means you suffer a serious blow to ur accuracy when defense contested. That’s why u prefer attack widow, so u can make ur shots and choose ur positions without having to worry about maintaining a point, and against a time who is unwise to deal with u personally if ur in the back line.
You are right about this … I apologize… I’m new to the forum I didn’t understand how much I would have to defend my point.
U said something as if u contradicted me but in fact you agreed with me.
Pro divers know that even if the enemy defending widow is within “reach,” they are probably good enough to slip you such that u don’t get the kill. The divers should know this, and instead go for the de-positioning, and then maybe follow up for the kill if it’s good enough deposition
I’ll say this much though. The title of this thread is spot on. Aim is only one of many skills in this game, even and sometimes especially with the aim reliant heroes.
