Hey im trying to figure out if my sensitivity is too high on widow, i’ve got 1000 dpi with 4.5 in game sens
this translates to 30.788cm\360
my scoped sens is 35, is this too high? Anything lower feels horrible on other heros but I get the idea that having your scoped sens matching your unscoped sens is best?
Personal preference, Pine one of the best Mccree/Widow players in OWL has a really high sens at 500 dpi 15 in game.
There’s no such thing as too high of a sensitivity. It all depends on what you are used to and what is most comfortable for you.
The average “hitscan” player generally does have a lower sens for consistency, however it still comes down to personal preference.
Look at Pine as an example. He’s considered one of the best hitscan players in the world, and he has a very high sens for a hitscan player.
whats his zoomed in sens
right im just wondering if there are some sens that are better for learning or not
i guess i just need to practice more
ah ok so ill just keep doing what im doing then i guess i was thinking about lowering that number but it sounds like it would be better for my muscle memory to keep it close to my regular sens

There’s a big spread sheet with all the pro players info. If I wasn’t on my phone I could link it to you. Try googling pro overwatch settings. You should be able to find it.
yea i know about it but it doesn’t really give specific heros
also it doesn’t answer specific questions about zoomed in sens and if its bad to lower it to like, 18, or something.
I personally like to have a pretty med to high sensitivity on all hitscan hereos wether it is on console or PC.
PC: 40 scoped sense
Ps4: 60 scoped sense
Although I think it is better to have a low sense on pc since it isn’t like using a dual zone controller.
Technically there isn’t a wrong number. However, 35-39 is the goto because it translates to as close to pixel-to-pixel match in movement you can get. But due to the way it’s designed you can’t get it perfect. 35 matches short range movement, 39 matches longer flicks if I remember correctly.
Obviously you /can/ just set it to Scoped Sens 1 and learn to play with it if you really wanted to, but the difference between your sensitivity unscoped and scoped would be so jarring and extreme.
Personally I play at 7 sens - 400 DPI w/ a 800 DPI switch.
Some however, would recommend you set your ingame Sens to 4 or below and up your DPI to a comfortable rate because of pixel skipping which… I don’t see the point, but may be a thing.
ah yea i would do that but i cant change my dpi
Fair enough ![ ](https://d1mldsz5gr8kpv.cloudfront.net/en/overwatch/images/emoji/twitter/smiley.png?v=12)
Basically though your fine. There is no set rules to abide by, it all comes down to personal preference. Obviously, with lower sensitivity typically comes more refined control and precision so it’s typically a goal to continually strive for handling a lower sens.
Yet there is a limit to that, I don’t think I’d ever want to dip down below my current of 7sens 400DPI because doing so would render me utterly defenseless in CQC; after all I already use a switch to engage in close-range flicks that require me to follow a Genji jumping around my head or a Tracer blinking around behind me.
Yeah this whole thing boils down to optimizing settings due to preferred play style and mouse aiming technique. Do you aim with your wrist, arm, or both? How are your set up’s ergonomics? Available desk space?
I tend to run 1000dpi at 6.4 in game sensitivity with 40% scope sense. These are on the high side to balance long distance sniping with CQC once flankers close in. I also have very little desk space and play on a Steelseries Prizm mouse pad. Unfortunately this has also taken a toll on my wrist – carpal tunnel sux!
Wooow that’s an old post i gotta say!
I was just looking for some tips for my sens and this is what i found. ![ ](https://d1mldsz5gr8kpv.cloudfront.net/en/overwatch/images/emoji/twitter/grin.png?v=9)
I mean maybe it’s not the best time to learn Widowmaker but it always amazed me how hard it is to play her properly, so i wanted to give it a try.
What’s with the necro posts lately? Another 2 year one?!?!?!
Yeah reviving old post is always fun ![ ](https://d1mldsz5gr8kpv.cloudfront.net/en/overwatch/images/emoji/twitter/grin.png?v=9)
