Widowmaker NEEDS a nerf

Rein’s charge hitbox being the vacuum it is instantly negates all those downsides lol.

im more like its better to let her one shot close up and reduce fall off at range mainly cause it will help in sniper maps, most complains is her doming people rging in them.

also if thats done they will probably buff her smg otherwise she will be free kill.

also whats the kinda of fall of you are thinking at close range.

They absolutely do belong to Overwatch. I am judging by how refreshing OWC is:

– Hook teaches what out of position means
– Snipers teach what counter-pick is and why front-line is important
– Ranged combos like Junkrat teach situational awareness and checking corners
– Stuff like blade teaches how important ult tracking is to respond with your team ult or not play too clustered

the list goes on. I’m one of those people who don’t agree. I’m sure there are many of those too. Because trying to remove every sharp edge, remove every inconvenience, average out every interaction is why Overwatch is in such a boring and sorry state right now.

I will not argue with people like you… his hitbox is the reason why its so easy to counter, see, hear and so on. Common sense.

I’ve seen this said for both Hanzo and Widow, but tbh only Widow would need it. Up close with Hanzo is not really where he wants to be and requires a lot more flicking and nuanced aim, really on people like Tracer.

I’m kinda bias as I main Hanzo, but Widow is actually oppressive in nearly all ranges if the player is good enough. Hanzo can be oppressive mid range mostly, and up close you deal with SA which is hard to land consistently up close.

Agreed. Hanzo does not play from Narnia anyway and has a projectile.

Which heroes do you usually play? I think this will help other people understand why you ask for a nerf on Widow and Hanzo.

The only people who are NOT wanting Widow nerfs are either Widow players or dive characters. Its not that hard to guess. Widow should not keep 80% of the characters at bay just by existing tho.

I’ll be fair, this is only a major problem in high diamond+. Lower ranks she can be worked around and is more annoying than oppressive.

In Master, I hate but also love seeing a Widow on the other team. They gonna’ find out why Hanzo can absolutely counter Widow, but sometimes they just are too good and you peak for .1 ms and just gone.

Widow needed fixed like 8 years ago, blizzard doesnt care, they think the spammable one-shots are good for their esport.

Even on Sombra or venture it’s just kinda boring that my job boils down to “make the game a 4v4 as much as possible or else the widow kills everyone” lol

I hate having a cracked widow on my team too tbh. Enable her as much as possible and she just doms the entire lobby it’s kinda boring lol

In therory, but not in praxis. Plat is the place where people start to aim pretty good, but lack in other areas. Teams are uncoordinated, and switching is rarer there. It works in gold and below, but still… should this really be the case?

Why not rework widow to be more engaging to play and to fight?

They’re not AI, they’re just willfully ignorant. They don’t want to admit that Widow and other hitscan snipers like her objectively take the least amount of aim skill / positioning to get kills in relation to literally every other DPS, because CoD fragmovies taught them that hitscan snipers clearly take lots and lots of skill and are totally fair to fight against, as opposed to the many GDC talks, dev commentaries, and pro players that state the opposite. ( even though every shot in Call-Of-Battlefield : Reach type games is practically aimed for you because of console babies that cried “I wanna play a FPS too!”. It’s equivalent to showing up to a fighting game tournament with a steering wheel + pedals and hitting the gas button executes a frame-perfect combo automatically and being told : “yeah, come on in!” as opposed to being laughed out of the venue, which is the reasonable reaction to such a thing, but console players bring in lots of $$, so aim assist stays, even with the introduction of gyro aim on most controllers for new consoles completely removing the reason why aim assist was implemented in the first place)

No-skill hitscan oneshots without a significant cooldown or risk requirement, yes, they don’t belong

However…

Projectile one-shots like hanzo’s do belong

Ability-based one-shots that require the player to put themselves at extreme risk to perform them (junkrat, venture, rein) do belong

True, does make it highly boring, on the other hand, I remember in OW1, I had a Widow rage quit a comp match because “You’re killing everything and I can’t get ult charge.”

Laughed pretty good at that one.

I’m not the devs, but I’d say because she has a high amount of players, they wouldn’t want to lose, when the game is already in freefall.

I would also be sad to lose akj but we might’ve lost those players by this point anyway. I don’t have the numbers tbf

Like Mercy did. This is not a argument.

Poor answer. OW is rising slowly but steady. Its in the top 10 on console and gaining popularity on Steam while reaching there the top 10 of best selling games from time to time as well.

Isn’t he a Cass one trick though? Didn’t think he was a Widow player much?

I disagree, the game does not have the player base to throw away anymore like they did before.

I’m being civil and you’re going for arrogant and insulting. So I’ll just move on.

You have ZERO stats that support that. That is your main argument and that is based on assumptions. So you cant ignore data that shows OW is doing much better than people like claim :kissing_heart:

Playing against the same 20-25 people over and over sheds some light, I went from personal experience.

Not really an assumption when my experience differs from yours.

No one is ignoring anything, the stats before were horrid, and they now are rising, it doesn’t mean the amount of players they lost, magically returned like you’re acting like.

We’re done here.

Can you read stats, because I dont think you can. Players play mostly on battle net so steam players show a trend and that trend is positive over the 2 years the game is on steam.

Besides from that it comes in the TOP 10 of games on console and steam for best selling game from time to time. There is NOTHING that supports your “its doing badly” at the slightest".

Your experience does not matter if there are no actual stats that support it. I am sorry, but your feelings dont count.

I think we are
