She really is a server admin hero. She exists, the entire match revolves around her, and she holds all the power. Skill expression is important, obviously, but there comes a point when something is so utterly miserable to play against that you change it. That’s what happened with Sombra… even though it didn’t do much. If I wanted to play hide and seek, I would play prop hunt, not a fast-paced (allegedly) hero shooter.
To be honest, she could stand to be more interesting as a hero. She is literally just a bare bones sniper. For a character that is so cool both aesthetically and lorewise, her kit really doesn’t do her character any justice.
ill say what everyone else says to defend widow… just play her if its so easy bro.
jk’s aside i think shes fine. if people know how a widow plays on any certain map they can predict and outplay. yes she changes the games dynamic but playing around her is kind of the core concept of a hero shooter.
if ur dumb you will keep peeking the widow over and over and over. if ur smart you will communicate with tank and force the repositiona nd take space
This applies to literally no other hero except maybe Pharah, but Pharah can still be dealt with by every hero. You NEED to switch to deal with Widow, which yes, counterpicking is part of the game, but having to switch up your entire comp for one hero is insane.
I didn’t say I didn’t know how to deal with her or I keep peeking, I just don’t want to deal with it anymore. It goes against the whole fast-paced shooter that they’re going for.
Also you can’t take space where she’s looking. She needs to die first, but you need to make so many changes to your comp to do that, which is crazy and not fun for anyone.
if you see a widow you can easily swap to a sombra. 9/10 you win that fight easily there are alot of things you can do, play dive initiate on high ground, force the 2v1 like i mentioned earlier. widow is frustrating to play when ur not paying attention. theres a reason she is barely played in high rank.
Define this. Coz I am pretty sure any player that is cracked compared to the lobby just wins. Especially if we are talking about the mythical forum widows with 100% hs ratio level of cracked.
Regardless of heroes better players will lo and behold perform better. If widow unironically has no counters and was overpowered everyone would rank up easily playing her.
Thou what TOP 500 currently; a bunch of fresh accounts - fresh account MM - with hidden profiles clearly indicating they are prolly cheating. That on top of the fact the dou with other players, so in case they are not magically cheating their stats are mega inflated regardless coz they just get their 50-75 wins( it is 75 for ranking right?) and than just move on. The accounts are Polly sold for 50-100 bucks or whatever after that for the top 500 symbol.
Everything else aside. Should there really be a “counter” to cracked player?
Let say if we admit the widow player is league above us, shouldnt we just try our best and accept the defeat gracefully? Instead of trying to cry our ways to victory?
There is an argument to be made that requiring a hero to be speciically crafted to counter one person means that person is too strong.
In COD? No. In a hero shooter? Absolutely you should be able to counter mechnical advantage through strategy. It really feels like you are playing the wrong game sometimes.
I think, as you often are, are being disingenous if you don’t think that doing the most damage from the safest range, the most consistently, is not a problem.
Nobody would be complaining if she was getting oneshots from the frontline, where high burst damage dealers belong.
It’s the difference between Rein pin, or old doom punch vs widow one shot. I’m of the opinion that high damage output heroes should look more like Junkrat. They have to earn that damage.

I wonder why Widow is so good yet she remains one of the lowest WR dps, and everyone keeps yelling at their Widow to swap. Rein gets more kills per match than Widow for sure. Oh and Rein press a button and insta 1400 HP shield for free, so much depth and skill there.
