Hey, can we nerf widowmaker already? I refused to use any cover and she killed me in a predictable way. This simply shouldn’t be.
Think about it: why should I have to use the stage’s cover or a shield? I should be able to just walk straight to the point without dying to a hero across the map. I mean yeah, I could move unpredictably, try to pick a hero with teleporting/invincibility abilities (reaper has both, lmao), queue as a tank to I can just take the head shot, queue as a damage hero to legitimately duel her, queue as Genji and outright block her damage, but still I shouldn’t have to employ any counter play to defeat her.
Plus, Widowmaker is clearly broken because the top 1% of players can get more than one headshot as her at a time without dying. Sure, most of us reading this can’t even play her or will face a good widowmaker in game, but I think we can all agree that since streamers can play her well, that’s good enough for a nerf.
Worst of all, she has the ability to avoid dying due to her grappling hook. Like, OMG, why doesn’t she just stand there and die when she’s dived? Widowmaker should have absolutely no defenses and literally have to get sent back to spawn because I jumped at her, its just not fair!
I think she should lose the ability to kill on headshot, have 100 max health, and lose her grappling hook. Then she’d be balanced
Imagine being so butthurt over another thread that you have to make your own strawman post about a hero you’ve never even come close to encountering at the skill level where they’re a problem.
1 ) Widow isn’t the only 1-shot hero / villain here. - But I do agree that 1-shots abilities need to be REMOVED from the game.
2 ) To me, It is more infuriating to lose to Builders and the infamous “spam-zos” that YEET arrows into a crowd and the magic arrow flies up towards a player’s head, when clearly that person is AIMING at the GROUND!
3 ) 175 HP pool was a BS change and it never really solved what players wanted FIXED.
4 ) Let us also not forget that Widows CAUSE THEIR OWN PROBLEMS. They Duel. one person has a better connection to the server and after some-odd minutes of dueling they contribute NOTHING to the match and are focused on re-enacting some poor sniper scene out of B rated WW2 movie. So both teams groan that their widows are having a P contest and contributing NOTHING towards the match. Then they flame one another in chat for CHEATING, Aimbotting and etc.
The person that switched off to play widow to contest the other is GETTING REPORTED for “inactivity” and “gameplay Sabotage”. Since there are MUCH better counters that people can easily learn.

But, when you think about it, should I have to employ any strategy to keep myself alive? You mean to tell me that I SHOULDN’T do fortnite dances in front of a sniper?! No, clearly Widowmaker is the problem!
I’m confused. You’re half insulting me and then half agreeing with me. Yes, my post is clearly a parody, but clearly my issue with those posts is that people complain about widowmakers they never have to play against.

Let me guess: you think I should employ strategies to stay alive when facing a character who’s trying to kill me? Lmao, that’s just like the forums. Clearly is HER fault for doing explicitly what she’s programmed to do with no variation. Its not MY fault for not realizing that, hey, a sniper needs to snipe in predictable sniping locations!
I really don’t think she needs recoil or weapon sway. She’s going up against characters who can fly and teleport; why in the world should she play like a realistic sniper?
You don’t have to fight those Widowmakers either. You’re 2600. I do. And she needs to be rebalanced heavily for OW2.
I don’t think they’d remove her one-shot though I think it needs to be tuned, they need to at least increase the delay between shots so you can react to one teammate being domed before the next one falls over.
Shields break. Cover doesn’t always exist on objectives. Is that our fault for not dealing with the Widow prior to overtime? Yes. But some situations are unavoidable.
Burst needs to go DOWN.
Yes please make her like the snipers in Unreal Tournament, Planetside, even the COD snipers dont have to charge their shots, they can quick scope. Widow cant.
Or make them like the ones in Battlefield where they have multiple rifles to choose from, can place spawn beacons for their teammates, have C4, have wall hacks, can snipe you from a literal mile away.
Widow is a handicaped Sniper. Has to charge her shots, cant quick scope. Has a red lazer when she shoots to show where she is. Has very little HP. And she is fighting crazy heroes with a million abilities flying across the map to hunt her. Widow has to deal with endless shields, burst healing and superior movement acceleration from the heroes compares to other FPS games.
You mean have a faster fire rate? Yes please. Widows fire rate is slow compared to other snipers.
Most fast paced FPS shooters , you dont have to do this.
Whats funny is that the complainers think all FPS games are hyper realistic military shooters with crouching, breathing control, massive bullet drop, sway, etc. There are hardly any of those games around. Like Sniper elite or whatever.
Those type of shooters are few . There have been plenty of sci fi , fantasy, Arena shooters in the past. Not just military shooters.
