Widowmaker Appreciation Thread

I don’t know about you guys, but I. Love! Widowmaker! This journey that I’ve gone through with the hero has been absolutely crazy for me. Season after season of trying my hardest to improve, facing the hatred, death threats, and overall harassment from the enemy team as well as my own teammates, have have overall served to benefit me in the long run.

I can solo Phar-Mercy, I can remain unseen from the enemy dive tanks, I can flick, I can kill in the air, and nothing feels as good as that beautiful “dink” after a headshot.

I understand that many hate her, and my opinion obviously comes from a place of bias, but I feel that she’s a necessity to the game, and to all FPS games at that.
I also love watching Widowmaker play in OWL, it’s absolutely crazy how positioning has to immediately change once a Widow is on the other team, and how accurately those pro Widows are able to secure one shot kills while under tournament pressure.

Don’t even get me started on aesthetics! It’s a beautiful, sleek design that isn’t too sensual, with a great default color palette.

I think I’ve run out of compliments at this point, but anyway, this is for me and my fellow baguette players, we don’t need Tesla Cannons, Pulse Pistols, Pulse rifles, Shuriken, or any of that nonsense. “One shot, one kill.”

Widow is definitely one of my favourite heroes.

She has that balance of skill and power that makes her a really good pick if you’ve got mechanical capabilities.

I bought this game because of Widowmaker. I have 830 hours on her.

I must say that I really ENJOY the Character and playing her. Shes really fun. The only thing I do NOT like is the duels. This game’s tick-rate and reliance on its current system has made for some “bs” no-reg shots.

I hear you there, it took a couple of other people’s examples on Reddit to prove to me that some of my lost duels were totally BS.

I like widow as a character. Her story is great and she is very fun to play if you actually hit something. But my god playing against a good one just makes me hate her

i completely understand your pain, on days where I’m simply being outplayed by the enemy Widow, I start to hate her! :rofl:

Yeah, Blizzard goes off of the “honor system” when it comes to two computers in the match. It generally accepts the player that says “I hit first” or “i dodged first”. VS what actually happened.

I miss the OLD days of watching my friend play where scopes did NOT have charges. Or myself, playing when the hook had a REASONABLE Coold-down :wink:

Them flying jumpshots are exhilarating, That 2.5 seconds in air, is like sailing through the wind and when a person looks down, over their prey and FIRES that shot that rings out. I just say " let it sing" and the loud CRACk of the rifle as it goes off. Then getting the POTG at the end of the game, while people see that same moment we lived through :wink:

Best female overwatch character by far, i love her in everyway possible: lore, character design, playstyle, animated short and voice (god Bless Chloé Hollings for that beautiful french seductive voice)

This might come off sarcastic, but I don’t mean it to be. I really appreciate the skill it takes to be a good widow. A widow that makes me mad is a widow worth playing against again and deserves some props.
