Before, she had a range limitation to make her less oppressive on sniper maps and had to be pinpoint with every shot, but with the changes in season 9, they’ve walked back on every trade-off in her kit for being a long range hitscan one shot
When at 175hp and lower falloff but had to be pinpoint, she was still a fundamentally broken character in the 5v5 format but had drawbacks. It was annoying sure but at least it took a decent amount of skill to have impact on a lobby
Season 9 her health gets buffed to 200, hitscan bullet goes to 0.08m, so they just dumbed down the skill floor to be effective with her.
Now she has even more range, but still an easy bullet hitbox. Now what is the downside to playing Widowmaker? You don’t even need to aim at the head to land a headshot. She was given an extra 10 metres of range and at 200hp is un-interactable for most heroes barring a Sombra
Is Widowmaker herself paying the developers to enforce her domination? It doesn’t make sense to me that they want to reduce the effect of burst damage yet the biggest problem child of burst damage gets a slap on the wrist and net buffed in the same patch that they wanted to “reduce the effectiveness of burst damage”
It’s an exaggeration but I just mean people that are already GM and had half decent hitscan aim already just run lobbies with her and I am malding that I had to play against a Widow like that

Right now widow have the smallest bullet hitbox in the game, but everyone have damage boost and baff changes, when widow had none. She have a range limit for her shots, why hanzo doesn’t have it? Or genji? Don’t tell me he have so strong arms to throw his shurikens without that. While genji is anihilating entire team just jumping around and spam right click and slash, zen kill you with 3 penalties, sym with one shot hit you more than half hp and thoes hitboxes, you manage to blame widow for everything. The character, who need skill more than any other character in the game.
A. They have too much focus on winrate, despite the math being wrong
B. They think people buy Widow skins, therefore can’t nerf Widow, but somehow she’s the only hero that applies to. Also people NEVER buy Widow skins they you don’t play the hero. (Despite you know collectors will get it regardless)

I have nothing against people that aren’t native English speakers. But in the same way that I wouldn’t try to insult people in Spanish, you shouldn’t be trying to insult people in English. Also, the idea of Sym being anywhere near the same ballpark as Widow is outright risible. If you’re getting outsniped by Sym orbs then… I don’t know what to say, I really don’t.
Increased HP made her kill range shorter. It was to counteract that. It balances out to a 3M diff before and after the patch. You will never notice it in a match.
Everyone talking about how it’s easier to hit shots and takes “no skill” has never understood how busted no movement acceleration was in this game. It’s the hardest game to aim with the least reward for aiming because there’s a slew of heroes that get value without aim at all.
It also lets people who are locked into aimless heroes have more outs and an on ramp to more of the hero roster.

Because it’s her identity.
Because she can’t spam chokes.
Because she doesn’t have abilities that do damage outside venom mine which is tickle damage.
Because her primary fire is awful compared to anything similar like Soldier’s primary.
She is literally just about her scoped shot and positioning and grapple. Mine and Ult are utility.
She would be dumpster tier below even sombra tier this season if she couldn’t one shot. She’d literally be the most unplayable hero in the game.
She’s one of the most popular heroes in quickplay since the games inception so you might dislike fighting her but tons of people love playing AS her.
She sells tons of skins. So you think blizz is going to ruin a character cuz you can’t use cover or switch to sombra?
Ranged one shots are directly counter to engaging gameplay. The only real counter to good widows is another widow. Change her identity, or actually give each role real counters to widow other than just blindly hoping your dps mirrors.
And ‘just use cover, lol’ isn’t a counter to widow. Saying to use cover is to tell someone to not play the game. Telling someone to just not play the game doesn’t counter a hero.
She’s almost unplayable if the other sombra knows what she is doing, and just like ball doesn’t take one counter to stop him, you can stack them.
Dive is also hella strong right now making her even weaker in the meta.
I get it you don’t like one shots.
But imo it’s a stupid argument and stupid campaign to have. I swear some people just want this game to be sit around until ults are up the game like it was with GOATS. Almost no one enjoys that kind of game it’s not engaging or fun.
I and many others have a ton of fun with THIS widow because she’s fun. imo the most fun hero in any fps I’ve played. The quickplay numbers support that she is well liked and fun.
You guys have been slowly trying to ruin the game since day 1 changing things you blame for your deaths rather than just engaging with the game and figuring it out. No limits was the first to go and it’s been one complaint after another making the game less and less fun. To the point that release OW1 was probably the best the game ever was or will be. But sure lets continue on this path of making everything a slog with TTK infinity until ults are up. We can race to see who is first to fall asleep or play a diff game.
I play both characters and the ease with which Sombra kills Widow now is ridiculous. The only real counter is Widow hugging her support and hoping they have good awareness because if not then rip you. Even just Sombra existing on the other team makes Widow play out of position like she’s soldier or ashe.
