And no, I don’t mean your average 4.2 - 4.6 smurf griefing during the overnight. I’m talking your average casual everyday kind of Overwatch player. Actual bronze players, surprising, right?
And I’ve won many games in which I prob should have lost, or else would have had to exert more effort for the win. Simply because an opposing Widow player missed one shot, and their entire team collapsed on them.
Story time
Prior to this happening, our supports were getting picked and were under a lot of pressure due to no one contesting the Widow player. In fact, they began asking for someone to do something about the sniper, which is right about the time someone from the opposing team says “gg this team is pure toxic” having a hunch, I asked if it was due to their Widow player. They confirmed, said something like “I watched them miss a shot on someone walking in a straight line, I expect those shots to be made”
That game could have potentially been a really easy win for them. My team was shook, I didn’t feel like contesting a Widow that game. I don’t think my Reaper could have done anything.
tl;dr
Have faith in your teammates. Sometimes you can’t see what your teammates are doing or how they’re providing value. But in many of your ‘ez wins’ I can almost assure you it was because one or two members of your team were doing something you weren’t privy to.
Yeah I totally agree with this. Today’s silver is probably better than year ago plats. People can be bronze and still play widow without throwing. Just remember that clicking gm head and clicking bronze head are totally different things.
It’s true. Higher ranks are incredibly ignorant of what occurs in lower ranks. (No offense to those in high ranks who refrain from holding such beliefs) But both Stylosa videos I’ve had the misfortune of watching, this ignorance is exhibited well.
It’s probably because of some stupid YouTube vids that shows low elo people as some bots or morons. Stupid mistakes happen in every rank, surely it happens more the lower you go but that doesn’t mean that’s how it always is. There are players in low elo who ad couches or can click heads with Widow too. It’s just less consistent.
No, just no. I see what my team maters are (not) doing and hence I lose my faith.
Whole situation you described here is the very play style I hate. It is a victory based on a luck. Like, no control of anything whatsoever during whole match and then “something-somehow-happens” and GG, victory.
Sure, I won’t complain about victory but it’s obvious when you are playing with clueless players that rely on “something-somehow”. I only have faith in my team mates when I see they are trying to change the outcome of the match, not just “stick together behind rein and believe in win ^^”.
I’m a bronze dps and I wouldn’t trust myself to have any positive impact while playing widowmaker. why should I extend trust to someone else in the same tier to have more impact than I could even provide?
If they are good they’ll climb on any hero. Widow is not an exception here. No one is expecting a bronze Widow to do jumpshots from spawn or 2 tap diving monkey.
You have your opinion, even though it’s totally wrong and I don’t respect it, you can continue believing what you want.
And you can continue to have your dreams of widowmaker who can’t have impact due to their horrible aim that isn’t considered throwing. I’ll not judge you for your insanity.
I’ll continue to let you live in your dream world.
