Me and my wife can’t play anymore. We were losing and I had higher rank, but I would lose 20%, she would lose 40% from the same match (makes 0 sense to me).
And now we are placed in Wide Match, and we can never find a single match
Random silvers put in random plat lobbies is fine for blizz. But Plat and gold together is a wide match. Blizz is failing in the aspects of the game that were working fine and nobody asked to do anything about them.

The community gets what they want, but don’t want to pay the price for it.

Strange how they let Silver players group with Platinum players in the past? It seems like they’re discouraging groups but keep the same balanced skewed matches going.
The ever swinging pendulum of “matchmaking sucks, who cares about short queue times” “matchmaking is better but these queue times aren’t worth it!”
Never happy lol.

Everyone was happy when Overwatch 2 released
Who asked for this change? Which community?
Also if I am higher rank and she is lower rank, and we lose, my punishment should be higher, logically, but no, she was getting 100% more punishment for losing. And if we won, I was ranking up more. It’s like it’s designed to split people
I am so frustrated now.
Not the dps who would duel the tanks and lose and call tanks “raid bosses.” Supports were not happy either.
The people who only play solo. They wanted to only face people of their level and avoid facing and playing with groups as much as possible.

But that’s not “fixed” anyways. Silvers will be easily but in Diamond and plat lobbies anyways. It’s just when they are grouped, they have a higher queue time. The limit is put on the group, not on random team members.
That’s the clarity after a few days passed…

Everyone was on the hype train until it crashed.
I was never hyped. I was playing with my wife for a year now without any problems. Me on my plat alt and she on her gold account. And now she dropped to silver, I dropped to gold (ima former gm lmao), and the game puts us in “wide” category, which is a wide absurd. If anything, I should have lost more rank, not her, cuz we were put in high lobbies and I lost.
0 things make sense in this
The solo players are indeed happier because they can’t face wide groups and there are less narrow groups because the requirements are stringent.

I am a solo queue player so I was not negatively effected by this change. I understand though the frustrations of insane queue times for those now placed in wide queues and if that isn’t fixed the player base will start to dwindle. I don’t want to play with or against stacks but I could make an exception for duo queue players. Problem is this might break their new system and might require a mass rework of the code.

I need to hear this story, sounds interesting.

Wide match is def a failure. The best advice I can give for you is to either play a different role or you both make two new accounts (that’s what they want, it’s their secret agenda) and play comp together so you both can rank up and down together.

But wide groups couldn’t queue anyways. And the random people put together are still pretty wide, cuz you will have a team with silver, gold, and plat anyways. Again, this whole thing makes 0 sense. Literal 0 sense.
How could people complain about wide groups if wide groups did not exist before?
Just revert it to however it was. Not a single gm is going to queue with silvers anyways. Who’s bright idea was this?
Yea cuz it’s my alt and I play with my wife who’s a boosted broze xd. But higher than plat I can’t carry her. Not that we want to climb, we play for fun and were placed there. Now we can’t play anymore
Already on my alt, and my wife has a lot of skins, she cares about these.
Yeah, the new account thing is your only answer at the moment. You’ll probably ruin a lot of matches for lower skilled players though. Blizzard doesn’t care though so no one will complain.
Ain’t no way someone who actually belonged in the like 97-99th percentile could drop to the 50th without either never belonging there at all, or purposely falling.

They complained about groups in general. Under the current system, they can’t face wide groups and hardly see narrow groups since there’s so few of them. They are much happier.
I group with friend about 1 to 2 tiers apart plat2 to diamond 5 (narrow group) but my match will have a gold5 player/s. Legit what is the point of these narrow snd wide group when their system doesnt follow the same rules lol.
Playing in groups this season has been horrible and im pretty sure its because of this new sustem they added.

The idea was to bring more consistent matches to those who solo queue. Which ya was fixed and now rank wise almost everyone in a solo lobby is very closely ranked. Problem is that for duo and trio groups unless very close in rank (to be put in narrow pools) end up having to wait way longer due to smaller pools of players to pull from in the wide queue. I saw this coming way back when they announced the change but again I was fine with it because as a solo players it was a net positive for me.
Edit: It would be nice if as wait times start to drag for Duo queue or even 3 stacks that at some point their range slowly narrows to the median of ranks as to find more groups and possibly enter the narrow queue.
