Why You Are Stuck In A Specific Rank

The reason your stuck in the rank your in is because you are not improving and you deserve that rank. Blaming throwers, cheaters, and smurfs is the worst bs statement. Either get good or ask someone to boost you. If you do get boosted I would like to see you stay in the rank that you deserve to be in for a whole entire season, have at least 15-30 hours that season.

That is simply not true I have improved a great deal and yet somehow I am stuck in platinum when I should be in master.

you obviously did not improve enough. Try playing on a smurf and placing on comp again and if you get placed around the same elo/mmr that your mains at that means you deserve your rank. If you place low masters high diamond than your right, im wrong, you deserve a higher better rank

I know this is entirely against the rules, but years ago one of my mates was Silver and was adamant that he was being held back by “bad teammates”, so one of my other friends who was Diamond borrowed his account and climbed it to Diamond and then gave him the account back, within a week his rank went back down to Silver before he finally started to win consistently, I think after that he finally conceded it was him that was the problem

And for the sake of proving the story I’ll show your his rank from that season

Thank you for showing me that. that is proof that if you think you deserve a higher rank you *should be able to stay in that rank.

Making a smurf so you can play against worse players and get a high rank… lol
That is kind of sad, I feel bad for people like that xD

generally the first initial game is around low to high gold when doing placements but I might be wrong. If he says he deserves to be masters than he should be able to climb to masters with a smurf and not lose against people that are lower elo than him when hes plat.

I kinda just like playing with friends, I hate how uncoordinated and just plain toxic everyone is in solo queue. I think I’m in a rank where I’m suppoused to be high plat or low diamond in OQ.

Support is my best role, so I think I might be able to solo/duo queue to master on it. But I don’t really want to tryhard rn

Honestly the whole mentality that MM is ‘luck based’ leads me to believe a large amount of alt accounts are just people in denial that they can’t climb

Hulk’s really good, though. I mean, like, insanely good. If he can’t make it, then it’s clear the system is at fault.

Trust me, you don’t want to climb to Masters, your queue times start to increase drastically and you cop so much toxicity if you don’t play ‘meta’ supports

I hope your being sarcastic

This is an old argument and both sides have a point imo. Overwatch is a team game, your team matters. The lower your rank the worse your team tends to be on average. Your only real hope of climbing is hoping the enemy team just happens to be a bit worse on average.

It is also rather hard to learn anything when your surrounded by people doing every thing wrong. If you don’t go out of your way to consume tons of 3rd party media like Youtube or Twitch streams yoru only experience after joining will be the vs AI matches or bronze… neither inspires team work, good game play or tactics.

The game is also heavily weighted towards team work, it takes 6 people working together better than the enemy to win. IT takes one bad player throwing or just being really bad to cause you to lose. Rare is a game in where a 5v6 is actually possible.

The reason every one says “stop blaming others” is simple, you can only control yourself. So while your team might be the reason for your low rank and your losses, you can’t do much about it unless you can some how swing a 6 stack of friends you play with every day.

They don’t even have to be good at the game… simply playing with people you know won’t throw, leave, etc will probably cause you to win more than lose for a long time.

i mean some peoples goal is to get to the highest rank so you feel like you completed the game or you feel like your one of the best and some people just wanna have fun

It takes too long to climb, I occasionally do placements and then I’m done

Who even cares about rank tbh

the solution to solo q is to q with friends , lfg that are serious, or just find a overwatch team that can help you climb and imrpove. The overwatch team recruitment helped me alot but theres solutions to getting bad teammates.

Few blame them, but everyone including the likes of SVB and so on acknowledge they are an additional impediment that is real. Why can’t you acknowledge this?

The problem is everyone now is a diehard, and we are all continuing to improve. Today’s Plats are yesteryear’s Diamonds… and so on.

Pretty much, especially at the lower ranks. If your win % is about 50-60 you should in theory climb eventually. However it will take about 100 games to go from bronze to silver, another 100 to go silver to gold and so on.

Unless your a master smurfing down in low elo games and win every match in general it takes hundreds of games to rank up as the SR gains over all are very little. I always felt to rank up at a reasonable pace you need to be at least twice as good as the rank you are in so you can carry your team.
