Why would you pick Mercy 🤨

I’d like to hold my opinion on if she’s useless or not and ask what makes her unimitatable. What can she do that no support can proactively or alternatively do?
Example
Lucio: Speed
Brigitte: Tank
Moira: Stealth
Ana: Prevent Healing
Zen: Dps buff the whole team rather than a single target.

REZ is an invaluable tool on a 30 sec CD

Pump out consistent healing without much aim or resource management.
Resurrection.

Was this a serious topic? The answer is nearly self-evident.

Completely a personal strat and by no means my claim on what her intended purpose is but…

I play her when I think my DPS is competent, else, I pick a healer that can shoot so I can save myself and contribute lol

Errr shoot AND heal at once that is.

I’d like unimitable examples, because defensive assists are proactive alternatives to a 30 second ability, but have no cool down. Overhealing with armor is. A barrier is. Even speed boosting can. What in regard to not being copyable is unique about her?

because you like Mercy

In QP I like to pick her to more or less relax, I’m a Widow main, and it’s so stressful playing her sometimes, the stress of missing that important shot, the stress of my team cursing me out and giving me death threats, Mercy gives me a bit of escape from it all.
In comp that Resurrect is an invaluable tool, able to maintain the momentum of the match if the enemy happens to down one of your tanks or DPS. Her damage boost is amazing as well, one of my favorite things to do is to Damage Boost a Roadhog as soon as I see/hear he’s hooked at target, that extra damage is more than enough to down a squishy with 100% certainty, and nearly deletes the lower HP tanks like Orisa and Zarya.

HAHA thats awesome. That is such a polar opposite and I can totally see it working.

Healing, mobility, damage, ult, ease of use. Lots of reasons.

I think she is the best healer when the team is spread out and/or vertical

Idk then damage boost might be a solid reason. She has Orisa’s ult as an ability but then again Zen has discord

Yes, spread out teams greatly assist in her mobility, as she’s able to zip all over the map and can prove neigh impossible to kill.

Mercy’s my go to hero when there’s hi DPS spam and too little peel or back line protection. This happens a lot in Quickplay where all anyone wants to do is play solo on a team.

Guardian Angel is extremely important to her survivability if you manage your positioning well on these. Honestly I think she’s really the best support suited to do this.

I pick Mercy

  • when we have a Pharah, for obvious reasons
  • when secondary support is Zen, Mercy has it easier to keep him alive
  • when we have a Ashe for damage boost oneshots
  • when we run pirate ship to rez the Bastion if needed
  • i need easy access to high ground, thus need vertical mobility

Why are you running to make another thread ?

I wouldn’t because she is boring to play but she has rez and is annoying to kill.

Prefer to have a mercy on team more than any other healer would be great to have her combo with ana though but its oh well.

I generally don’t. I will if one of two things is true.

Firstly, if I don’t feel like thinking much at the time. Mercy is easy, so when I am feeling like I want to play OW but don’t want to concentrate all that hard… that’s when Mercy comes out.

Secondly, if my team decides to pick something… odd we’ll use the word odd to be nice. Mercy’s the healer who can keep doing her thing no matter what variety of ā€œclassic QP compā€ your teammates decide to go with.

Because I enjoy her gameplay. Also Its nice to not care about any kind of resource - meter, or ammo.

Just hold your lmb and heal. I find it relaxing :stuck_out_tongue:

Erase a death. Is the most mobile support in the game. Has consistant healing. Self healing. Doesn’t have to aim unless using her pistol. Great at contesting snipers during ult. Small hitbox.
