Technically you can one-shot squishies faster than that. You only need 67% charge to pop a squishy

widowmaker is way too strong for how easy she is.
the hitboxes in overwatch are actually REALLY BIG compared to the actual models.
Widowmaker needs to be toned down. She’s been strong since forever and played practically every season.
When I play doomfist and I go for a kill I have to commit so much and risk getting CC’d to death while widow just sits across the map and kills people by clicking on people.
I understand snipers are suppose to “one shot people” but widow is completely different than every other game. You can’t even uppercut her out of her hook which is really dumb. She needs to be toned down and overwatch hitboxes need to be fixed
As a Mei/Roadhog/Junkrat player, I try to steer people away from “unfun = nerf into the ground”.
That said, Widow maybe could use some changes, on the basis of “giving non-instakill or non-almost-tank heros” a chance to be meta.
Something like slower charging, or slower non-linear exponential charging.
But to make it so grapple temporarily boosts her charging, because grapple-snipes are hype af.
You don’t understand. “Oppressive” takes skill, and is therefore fine. “Frustrating” somehow does not and is therefore nerf-able. /s
None of which will actually fix anything. She’s “oppressive”. That means the pressure you suffer from while playing opposite her is constant with only minor interruptions here and there that you can neither anticipate nor count on.
She needs to give the opposing team a much longer break from her BS than another second every shot. She needs to give them enough time to actually make a play. And reducing her re-fire rate won’t do that. All it will do is make her less fun to play, which isn’t the goal (as much as the tears would fuel my dark existence).
She needs to give the enemy team no less than 45-90 seconds with a clear callout to be aggressive. Most other heroes do something similar with their cooldowns. The differences being that widowmaker doesn’t actually have any cooldowns you need to worry about, and other heroes usually can’t instantly kill you even with their cooldowns. Which allows them to get away with a shorter rhythm.
It’s why people say that she lacks counter-play. She doesn’t have any kind of a time-based pattern you can force out. At best you can make her temporarily retreat either by running away or respawning.
It’s why I suggest some kind of resource system to restrict high-powered sniper shots, a scarcity mini-game, and ammo-select on mouse-wheel. Not “you can run out of ammo”. Just “you can run out of the good ammo”. She could still always fire her gun. She just wouldn’t always be able to kill you in a single shot.

If I were to change her
-150 hp instead of 200.
-fully charged shot does less the closer the enemy is, like an opposite damage falloff… So players within 15 meters or less will not get that hard by a fully charged shot…
-venom mine damage reduce to 50.
Currently it’s too easy for widow to either survive a dive or kill a squishy. Letting her have 200hp is enough for her to survive everything with a zen orb… 150hp is enough to give opportunity for players to kill her at close range.
The reason for lowering damage on venom mine is because 75 is pretty a low for it’s goal… she can already deal with close range battles very well… letting her advantage of 75hp is a really big one…
and for the last nerf, I see no reason for Widow having a fully working sniper gun in a radius of 5 meters… good widows can do crazy things with it and it just makes her primary fire useless… it only makes fair that the queen of long range will have a weakness at close range…

Widow doesn’t “counter” Doomfist.
If anything it’s a 50/50 match up depending on the map.
Let’s not pretend like it’s purely doomfist mains who dislike the impact widow has in the game.
Her entire kit works around having an untelegraphed hitscan one shot on her primary attack with unlimited range not tethered to any ability with a cooldown.
Multiple metas have formed largely to mitigate her ability to oneshot much of the cast.
It’s fair that people are going to dislike her.
Even less when you factor in damage buffs and health debuffs.
Widow countering Doom? i’ve seen Widow mains quitting OW when DF became meta long time ago (before goats) of how easy they killed Widows lol
