I’m talking about the new competitive update, don’t tell me it’s because Blizzard needs to test lots of stuffs to validate it’s better than current one, the actual competitive ranking (after 5 wins or 15 losses) it’s horrible! We know it, they know it, even people who don’t play the game know it, why we have to deal with this crappy system 2 more months? It doesn’t make sense to me at all!
Don’t get too excited, I’m sure it’s not going to be the silver bullet they want you to think it is
Games will still be as lopsided as ever, perhaps even more so if they remove grouping restrictions, the only difference is that you can now see your progress towards ranking up or ranking down. Big deal, welcome to 2016 when the very first season of OW1 comp had this same thing
Generating hype for bringing back features that existed since day 1 is Apple level gaslighting
They have to import parts from all over the world for the new matchmaker before they assemble it. I heard it’s going to have custom golden knobs but will still function the same as the old one.
Because conveniently thats the first whole season without Bobby and that season will have the shop and bp changes as well.
That season will be the one where they have to impress Microsoft.
funnily enough was saying this to a mate last night about having to impress microsoft
But Microsoft is already impressed no ? As awful as many things are in Overwatch, isn’t the game bringing a lot of money anyway because of BP and skins?
Microsofts reason to buy ABK was not Overwatch, or CoD, or WoW or anything else. It was because of King. Candy Crush is the most profitable game worldwide. Everything else is just a bonus for them.
That’s why! Now it actually makes sense…
So Microsoft could axe Overwatch. It would be a sad end for once promising franchise.
Why wait? Isn’t it obvious…
Season 8 covers the Christmas period.
During that time Team 4 gets 2 weeks off and some work on fun “passion projects”.
Why would you introduce something major for that season. If something goes wrong, no one will be there to sort it.
Better to wait til after that and launch then.
It’s the same reason betas, and other game launches (see Overwatch patches too) don’t often get released on Fridays or Mondays.
Makes perfect sense. if was me id do February too. Rush of xmas and January deals and stuff out way. Teams refreshed for a big update and they can focus on trying to get the fix done correctly
Isnt it just SR as in OW1 with a different UI?
Instead of SR numbers its a progress bar…
Never seen a game go nearly full circle back to its original.
Yes.
But that’s all we have now, without the progress. SR is still there
All they’ve done is put a different coat on.
I suspect there will be players on the new system this season who don’t know it. It’ll just be the backend part of it (without any UI shown to the player) and they’ll track how it performs and then make any necessary adjustments.
