With how OP the forums say McCree is, you would think he would’ve been played constantly, especially since he’s a decent pick against those 2 heroes

One would also think that heroes like Sombra, Widow and D.VA would reign supreme on ladder since those are amazing in OWL.
Or maybe, just maybe, OWL is such a different game that different rules apply? What works for them does not work for the rest of us.

It just doesn’t add up though. The forums say McCree is some overpowered monster. OWL players play to win, wouldn’t they play the overpowered monster who can just Fan the Hammer infinitely & shred tanks & every hero in the game?
Last I saw on the forums, McCree still needs like 3 more nerfs to not be supremely overpowered on top of whats on ExC

Again, they play a different game where different rules apply. What is strong on normal ladder might not be as strong in OWL. And mind you McCree is still being played in OWL and we have seen them do the ol’ FTH>roll>FTH to smack tanks.

Mccree would be a target in that comp, a large part of it is to survive a long time, mccree just can’t do that plus no mobility
Only tracer and sombra are banned.
Glister played McCree for a bit on Dorado kind of near the end tho.
Well I would hope we would see at least some McCree with how insanely overpowered people say he is on here. The fact that I didn’t see him pretty much at all in that match was really shocking. I was wondering if he was banned

Perhaps McCree is necessary to keep Tracer in check. If they nerf McCree like the forums want Tracers will just run him over

well the fuel famously don’t have a hitscan player.
Cree saw a fair amount of play in Defiant v Outlaws

Ahah of course they do but, just guessing here, if you know that you’re going to be playing into 2 DPS that are more close range, you have to mirror/deal with that or get melted.
I know this is just a troll post, but even you are smart enough to know that pro players try to punish every player that’s out of position. A Mccree can’t walk up to a tank and delete them in the league, but a Mccree can just RP walk up to a tank on ladder and destroy him.

Also Cree works far better in and against Rein comps, the hero pools take away one of his biggest enablers, and two of the people he’s there to counter.

Looking at the OWL’s stat lab McCree is currently the second most picked DPS with 35,2% pickrate. So since he is the second most picked dps im sure you will see more of him.

A lot of the hero pickrate in Owl is dependent on map selection and matchups.
People on this forum don’t understand McCree’s weaknesses especially on maps were too many vertical angles and in close fights can take place.
Same reason why Reaper was picked cause you get a tight claustrophobic in-flight he can do work as well as lock you down with less area to move.

It’s not all stages, i meant June joust mate.
Trying to comment on balance when there are hero bans in place is extremely misleading.
A hero doesn’t need to be directly banned themselves to be impacted by the inevitable meta change and it doesn’t have anything at all to do with their balance state.
