It is abused as a mob tool. You can down-vote things just because you didn’t like what the person had to say even though it could have been very valid to the conversation at hand.
It offered nothing constructive so its gone. If you dont like what someone says you will have to actually get some social skills and engage with people now.

Because it’s consistent with the rest of Blizzar’ds forum stuff. It would grey out topics and usually didn’t promote discussion. The threads that are truly inflammatory get locked or deleted. So there is no reason for a topic to grey out because people disagree. If you disagree just say so or don’t participate in the thread.

So now when you don’t agree with a post you just ignore it rather than leaving a downvote and running away. Isn’t this how it’s supposed to work? You don’t like something, you ignore it completely or leave constructive criticism.

Because a lot of people were using “downvote” as a mean to say “I disagree” instead of what it was intended to do: Ie, flag out the toxic comments. I had sometimes said the exact same thing in three different threads, and receive different “like” and “dislike” comments based on what was the growing discussion in the topic.
Eg, a topic about attack Symmetra would be upvoted if symmetra players are reading, and downvoted if it was filled with “lul, symmetra is bad, dont try to defend her”.

It killed discussion a lot of the time. But now liked posts are gonna feel inflated. They should just get rid of likes too. People like to act as if a bunch of likes mean community consensus before. Now that there is no option to dislike I can just see people crying like babies because blizzard is ignoring their thread with x amount of likes as if that means anything

Mental health is important in the past, present and future. It has no time limits and should always be relevant to discuss.
Removing dislikes makes this a more positive place to be!
