It’ll disincentivize smurfing by requiring smurfs to grind more before ruining competitive matches or play with a disadvantage
It’ll cause unfair competitive matches, which will cause the game to become more casual
It allows you to unlock meaningful content from the progression systems instead of just cosmetics
It’s good that some of the revenue from the game will come from impatient people paying for early access to free content, rather than it all coming from content locked exclusively behind paywalls
It’s a good incentive for people who want to get the battlepass but are principally opposed to paying for cosmetics
You will enjoy the hero more if you have to earn it
You can pretend not to have a hero if people are screaming at you to swap
Thank you blizzard for taking the game in the right direction
Look, im not that into competitive OW but anything that makes the game unfair is just bad. People that actually want to play the dedicated comp mode will now be at a disadvantage if they dont pay/havent unlocked the hero.
I dont know about you but one thing i do like about OW is the fact that both teams have the exact same heroes and abilities, there is nothing unfair in that, it comes down to indivdual/team skill and hero choices rather than “Welp, i couldnt pay so i guess im stuck with the badly balanced heroes”
There is no way someone actually sat down and said that breaking an extremely important and crucial promise made 6 years ago, is in fact acceptable. I just wouldn’t believe it.
What every gamer wants, more time wasted on meaningless grind before they can play way they want.
Lets also add open world map, where you need to collect 1000 glowing rocks for each hero to unlock their ultimates for pvp play.
