People in ranked denounce him as the worst healer, and even if Lucio has gold healing over a Moira team mate, he’s blamed for not having enough healing output.
His speed boost can bail a lot of people out of dangerous situations, like falling back after pushing too far, avoiding a D.Va bomb, and getting back to point quickly.
It’s just that…I’m not trying to say he’s good in every situation, but he can offer a lot to the table if people only just believed in him.
Lucio has always been one of the best healers once your main healer actually stays alive and prioritizes correctly. He’s also god tier in any rein meta, which is what we are currently in.
Pros are using brig too, but they still pull out the lucio in a lot of situations
I wouldn’t say Moria. But Lúcio has a aurora around himself that does 16per second. With everyone in that circle it’s a lot of healing, but not fast enough.
Then you have the people who play Lúcio just because they can DPS as him. In the past I asked a Lúcio why he wasn’t helping me heal and his answer was just

As for Lúcio in general presence I hate him cause he’s just so annoying. There’s nothing else I hate about him other then the fact he’s just annoying.
I agree with a lot you post, and I disagree that Lucio is “a dps”, but…
Similarly to Zenyatta, he’s a support, not a “healer” - he’s valuable for the utility he brings - in Lucio’s case, the most unique ability in the entire game: speed boost.
Good Lucios spend their time ferrying teammates from spawn and speeding teammates around to push objectives and chase down stragglers. Bad Lucios are defined by their healing output, but he has it as an option. If you and your team are expecting primary healing output from Lucio, you’re doing it wrong.
Lucio is the best support in the game right now at high levels.
I can understand why at low levels he’s bad, a lot of people play passively and dont take advantage of his main feature (speed boosting) but that’s not a reason to dislike the character, more-so a reason to learn how to play with him
Sure Lucio can get a good amount of kills if you’re skilled enough, but to say “Hey guys, I’m not going to heal anyone, and am just going to wall ride around and be a third DPS” is rude to say the least. In fact, I would suspect they’re trolling.
I’m sure you and I would agree that Lucio’s best source of kills with his utility is using his ult fire to knock people off maps, and he’s best picked if speed boosting would really help the team (such as assisting low mobility characters like Sigma or Zennyatta)
I mean, there is some truth to that. Medals aren’t an end all be all. But let’s be honest, if a Moira has bronze healing and has less healing done than Zennyatta and Roadhog halfway through the match, that’s a huge red flag imo.
Maybe Moira is DPS-ing too much, or is dying too much by being targeted by the enemy team. Regardless of the reason, something most certainly needs to be addressed ASAP, and medals can be used as a means of signaling this.
It’s not Lucio so much as it’s the Lucio players who, for some reason, just ride the walls far from their team doing almost nothing to help out. I mean, if i hopped on Pharah and just flew around the map going “HEY LOOK, I CAN FLY!” then that’d be about how i see some of these Lucios.
I think he’s really good too. In fact, I say I’ve been thriving in most of my matches now that I’ve started using him.

I have terrible aim using an Xbox One controller on PC, so I’ve tried using heroes that don’t rely heavily on aim. Whenever I shoot, it’s usually at barriers to try and break them since they’re super easy to hit, but I know this isn’t really playing to Lucio’s strengths. Idk, I know I could do better, and that there’s always something I can do to improve, but…I think I help a lot of the times, and I really try to be mindful of trying to use speedboost at the right times to help team mates.
Yeah, I know that’s a problem. I’ve seen Tracers do something similar where they dash in, flank, and do all of this poke damage, but they get no kills nor contribute anything to team mates trying to get kills.
You’re right, it’d be like “Lucio, you can walkride, cool. But we need you to be with us most of the time helping us rather than run around playing DPS.” But, I try to be mindful and not do mistakes like that. And there have been all of these bad games recently where people say Lucio’s the worst healer, and people call on reporting and avoiding me. As I mentioned above, I’d have gold healing over characters like Moira, Mercy, or Ana yet I’d be blamed for allegedly not providing enough healing.
lol, this. Everytime someone asks for me to switch off Lucio, they turn out to be one of those wall riding, always on speed boost, never grouping up, rides-alone-and-dies-on-the-point Lucio. Now I NEVER switch off Lucio for another player…
As a Lucio main and former OTP, I hope Lucio haters get booped into the Illios well for all eternity.
In all seriousness now: I love Lucio. And I sometimes make mistakes like engaging in 1v1s with McCrees who then flash me and kill me or with Junkrats in a small room. But I love speedboosting teams into points, I love to feel that rush of adrenaline when we’re seconds away from losing the payload/point and I jump into it at the last second and we clutch it, I love helping out Visor Soldiers, Coal Moiras and Dead Eye McCrees by speeding them up and killing multiple enemies; I love dropping the beat and negating Genji Blades and Junk Tires.
That’s what good Lucios do. They heal, they speed, they boop fools out of the map.
There is nothing scarier and at the same cooler for me as a decent Lucio player. Also if you can save your q for the best moments with him, your value is immense. I mean you can block so many valuable ults with your beat that I would be chill having less heals for the whole match but knowing that in the clue of the fight we gonna have a solid answer to the enemy team cool downs. The lower you go the hardest it is to make good use out of cc and powerful utilities. That’s why as a tank learning how to deal with them all is a big SR boost.
