Why The Juno Changes?

So, looking at the patch notes I see the cost of Juno’s ultimate Orbital Ray was increased 10% (And from what I’ve heard it was increased to a 10 second duration? Idk, haven’t tested it).

I’m just curious as to why, I thought I might ask here. It really doesn’t feel that impactful to me, helpful yeah, but it’s an ultimate, it’s supposed to be. I see a lot of people saying it was broken but… I just haven’t experienced that personally. Good, but not fight winning. Maybe it’s a rank thing.
I looked through the wikis for numbers and it didn’t seem broken there either. Idk if the numbers are correct (I’m going to assume they are) but the numbers make it look like a slightly different Mercy Valkyrie.
It restores 85 health per second over 8 (or 10, still don’t know) seconds equaling 680-850 health and a 30% increase to damage. Mercy’s Valkyrie does 65 healing for 15 seconds equaling 975 healing and the damage boost is the same 30%.
Is it “broken” because Orbital Ray does both at the same time? Is it the higher healing per second? Is it mostly broken at levels above me and/or with coordinated teams that with me being a lower-level solo player I just don’t understand?

Because Tournament play.

You can thank the pros.

I am still counting 8 second Orbital Ray.

As for why she got adjusted, which was unnecessary, it’s the developers. The same ones that decided Sojourn didn’t need a nerf besides her movement, definitely not her health or damage.

The ult is still good though.

As others have said, prob pro play just like the mauga nerfs. I do think she will still be a great support, just don’t think it was needed. She was good, but not OP. Pretty much was inline with a bunch of the other good supports, just depended on the comp. Like kiri, lucio, brig.

Same reason Mauga got practically deleted from the game even though he was nowhere close to being the best tank, they’re catering towards pro players (the top 0.01%) who also have the advantage of coordination (which is really needed for Juno ult and Mauga’s Cardiac to be as broken as a lot of people say), while forgetting that 99.99% of the playerbase is on ladder and doesn’t have that luxury.

Ana and Kiriko are honestly way bigger problems than Juno in ladder (and Baptiste is still turbo broken on console thanks to aim assist and Ximmers).

But it’s ok anyways, what matters is that they gave Sojourn a slap on the wrist nerf and buffed Widowmaker (LOL).

It’s good but takes an eternity to charge, requires your team to be coordinated and stand on it to be of any use, and as broken as it supposedly is, it can be completely denied by a single Ana nade lol.

Because perks are dumb and while a bit of fun, push some heroes too far

Juno’s ult does both at the same time and Juno can heal and do damage on her own during it, while also benefitting from the heal and damage boost too.

^ This, though I do not know why - but yeah both of them were nerfed due to pro play.

Juno Mauga OTP :innocent:

Because devs hate supports (but, Ana and Kiriko no), only nerfs, nerfs and more nerfs.

Ana got nerfed this patch and Bap, Brig, Illari, Juno, Mercy, and Lifeweaver all got buffed last patch…

The pandering to the extreme minority is still happening? So we learned nothing from OWL? Interesting…

Disheartening to see Aaron continue the trend :face_exhaling:
