The problems arent the meta… we will have a meta on all seassons.
The problem is play the same stale meta for 6 months. For this reason we dont like ow developers.

The daily posts about a certain Swedish slightly-above-average healer and the irrational (bordering on delusional) hatred towards our favourite Mexican hacker says otherwise.
Half of the roster is either UP or consistently unplayable.
Mercy has been top dog for the better part of a year.
A sniper is outclassing the entire DPS roster.
Reinhardt has been bugged since beta.
Sombra has been bugged since her release and seemingly isn’t allowed to be threatening in anyway shape or form (but Hanzo can press E and hold down LMB to melt tanks and shoot logs to land easy headshots).
One of the most UP tanks in the game got whacked upside the head by the nerf bat.
Every single hero rework has been a resounding failure.
These balance problems are anything but minor.
Oh of course, this is a given in a game like this and people are generally okay with that.
What people aren’t okay with is having the same stale meta for 6 months because Blizzard gets the final word on what they want the meta to be.
That’s not how bliz rolls, they’re infamous for nerfing certain heroes while buffing others for specific lengths of time, seemingly at random
Well, the Moira/Hog nerfs are kinda bizarre.
But I would say for the most part every hero is atleast “Viable” if not “Meta”, except for:
Sombra, Symmetra, Torbjorn, Roadhog, Bastion.
And at higher ranks, Reaper really struggles to be worthwhile.
But 22 out of 28 heroes being Viable is rather decent.
At this point I’m unaware of the point of posts like this. Nor do I understand them. I don’t think game developers go silent because they have shade thrown at them. I think that’s just bit immature and cowardly on anyone’s part. No, people should not be insulting the devs. They are playing a game the devs made, and then shouting at them on forums they provided us, and that’s wrong. Absolute ignorance. But still, when a dev team is this quiet it makes a person wonder if they care anymore.
But let’s remember to stay positive. They could be silent for a very good and viable reason.
Yeah, those posts he did 4 days ago really helped address the insane amount of Mercy, the nerf Brigitte, and the Roadhog “bugfix,” and all the other threads. Oh wait, they didn’t. They were on incredibly minor threads, and didn’t address the multiple elephants in the room. Before 4 days ago, Jeff’s last posts were on August 15th, it’s almost like he only checks up on the forums once a month. There’s no need for anything as big as a developer update, just a simple post from the devs that tell us that they’ve acknowledged the posts, have read them and are looking into it would suffice. It feels like they’re blatantly ignoring any “controversial” topic.
Do you seriously need to bring Mercy into EVERY post? Hold the Mercy hate flag higher so everyone can see it.
Maybe the forums would be less toxic if the devs would actually address balance problems more often than in a 6 months cycle and nerfing already bad heroes?
How would you know why the devs stopped talking? Also, the most latest dev comment is less than a week old.
Yet again Mercy is mentioned as the source of blame, although Mercy isn’t the only complaint in this game. Stop blaming Mercy discussion as being the main reason for lack of developer participation when nobody has proof that it was due to that.
Is there some other vocal group that takes dev posts completely out of context and complains about “broken promises”, repeatedly?
This is why the devoted players ignore the Official forums and go to reddit subforum instead.
I hardly play the game anymore because it just got too damn boring.
But I do check the forums here every now and then and what I usually see is people being toxic or acting offended for why they got silenced, while the blues are ignoring those serious topics that actually deserve attention.
So yeah. If I had to describe these forums in some way, I would say that they’re very similar to kids playgrounds. (please try not to get triggered for this comment, because I mean you no harm, whoever you are)
maybe the forums are like this since the dev’s werent talking?
