What is the reasoning behind this? He’s already one of the best supports and was extremely meta not too long ago. Why him when you could’ve given a buff to a support who needed it like Zen or Mercy?

He’s still better than like half of the other supports
Lucio, Brig, Moira and Ana are all far better.
The only supports even being close to his level are Mercy and Zen.

For someone who’s considered a main support yet can’t even keep a tank alive unless played with another main support…yeah

Cause they absolutely destroyed him with nerfs and made him unplayable, he needs more buffs even after these two buffs, decrease ult rate by 10% and revert immortality cooldown to 20 seconds and either healing increased to 55 HPS or ammo increased to 14

Yeah I agree that there are other supports who are better than him, but I don’t think that makes him weak necessarily. Even then, I don’t see why he was prioritized over other supports who are weaker and haven’t been touched in a long time.
Yet seems to be fine… So…

zen and mercy only need minor buffs imo like 30% discord and small qol changes, and ult charge rate increase for mercy.

I’d say brig is pretty trash too but ya bap is just as bad as mercy and zen
I think you’re misunderstanding. They flat out removed half of the best team comps to have Mercy in. Mercy doesn’t have the sustain to fit into the way the game is being played these days. I doubt she’ll ever be good again unless they remove RQ or Dive makes some miraculous comeback.
The point is she has been in a bad spot for a long time.

I’m fine with changes. But mercy has stayed a consistent top hero ever since they buffed her valk back to 60 and only faltered during her barrier bug

Because those heroes work well in teams with Reinhardt and 2 tanks? Try running Mercy with Rein/Zarya, you’d be better on almost any other support. Ana and Brig ideally want teams with multiple tanks, whereas Mercy does better with a solo tank, or tanks who need very little healing.
I’m not sure when that was exactly but since RQ Mercy has consistently been on the bottom half of the supports in ranks which know how to play the game.
And none of which she is played as a main healer …
Since her healing nerf she’s been played as an off healer if played at all
