Why Tank player feel the need to Tank all the time in frontline?

there a difrence between smart tanking and taking only neccesary damage, trying to hold space and sometimes give up space

compared to

and standing still on open area and shout, hey shoot me

like i just have a rein on my team, everytime his shield nearly broke he dont try to hide or back up, instead just double down and charge the enemy

i had a enemy team zarya that go W even he had no buble, and the closest one is 5 sec

this scenario is normal on previous season also, but support can just bail them out without problem, now they cant

while im the tank, my zarya usually need atleast 1 buble before i commit hard, and usually just chill in the back if i had no buble,

and sometimes my team said im coward tank if we lose, like whats the purpose of me going in without my buble or without my shield as rein, i will just feed them ult charge, and worse case dying

tank are tanking with cooldown and abilities, not with their body

well ofc unless u are hog or mauga, which are why they are bad right now, LOL

I feel you need to eventually draw a line at how much time you’re spending hiding around corners waiting for cooldowns to come back, because I’m finding that I’m actually spending more time standing behind a corner than actually tanking lol.

Why do tank players… feel the need… to tank…

Gosh, man, I don’t know. It’s a total mystery.

I mean, it’s not like we have anyone else to cover for us anymore :stuck_out_tongue:

Because tank players want to have fun playing the game too.

In fairness: there are players that like to play backseat tank and give bad advice. On occasion I’ve had teammates moan that I’m not pushing as Zarya. Well, yeah, I’m waiting for my bubbles to come off cooldown and there are four or five of them around the corner, waiting for me to step into the open. If I listened to That Guy™ then I’d get instantly vaporised.

Unfortunately, some other people probably do listen to That Guy™.

That’s true, but in a way I don’t even blame them for getting impatient since it feels like you’re standing behind a corner longer than actually engaging in the fight.
Especially for a character like zarya, you’re just waiting for bubbles the entire time lol.

(I’m not blaming you by the way, that’s how the character is correctly played, but maybe tank design is a bit flawed, idk)

yeah

i had so many zarya that waste both of their buble in first 5 sec and hard push, and die and blame support

his excuse was he was 100 energy…

well 100 energy doesnt make u invincible

he should back out quite a before shield breaks, once it breaks its often best to go for hail mary than die walking backwards.,

Honestly if they remove S key for tanks it will be better especially sigma mains

Also why tank players tank is a complicated topic.

Lets say the people playing tanks really wanting to tank are
orissa rammatra zarya mains.

Dva - is people who fancied being a power ranger or something
DF - They have no choice but to play tank to play their one punch man sorry one punch knuckle spammer
Hog - They wanted to play executioner
Jq - They wanted to be loud and shout and shoot
Ball – …they once played rocket league and then wanted to be the ball itself.
Rein - These are people that make a knight build in every rpg game

So its not as simple to answer why the tank.

I missed sigma cause i dont have kind things to say about him.

Mooga - probably cause they bought the battlepass and wanted to use the p2w advantage.
