Why Tactical Visor is the worst ultimate in the game

I’ll explain it like this.
Death Blossom: Is AOE damage.
Meteor Strike: Is AOE damage + invincibility
Dragon Blade: Is AOE damage
Pulse Bomb: Is AOE damage + guaranteed kill 90% of the time if stuck on appropriate target
Rocket Barrage: is AOE damage
Dragon Strike: Is AOE damage
Molten Core: Is AOE damage
EMP: Is AOE silence
Riptire: Is AOE damage + team wiper
Blizzard: Is AOE slow stun
Tank Mode: Is AOE + one-shot capable from range
Dead-eye: Is AOE + can team wipe
Every Tank ultimate: Is AOE + sets up team wipe
Every Support ultimate: Is AOE or has amazing synergy with DPS ults
(Notice a trend…?)

Then Lastly…
Infra-sight: Widowmaker > Soldier anyways, so this doesn’t matter.
B.O.B: Has AOE + 1200 hp body. Basically tactical visor except Ashe doesn’t have to personally do it.

Tactical Visor: Useless. Single-target. Can’t break a bunker. Can’t use to initiate a team-fight. Short-duration. Useless on tanks. Can’t one-shot. Countered by the most support ults. Can’t realistically team-wipe. Slow-charging. Etc

But, But IamAPerson you say! I’ve gotten Octakills with Tactical Visor! This PROVES that it’s amazing!!!

Lol, you must be wanting a really noob audience. Everyone knows visor is bad. Its almost like you think people defend this thing.

Well no, but few people ever mention that the reason that Soldier is perennially 1 of the worst heroes in the game is because he functionally doesn’t have an ultimate in a lot of scenarios. His kit is pretty much fine EXCEPT for this. (Also could probably use 6-second helix rockets.)

They don’t mention this because its obvious. No headshots, armor dmg reduction, los, etc.

That is why you communicate with your team for shield break and when It’s broken you crack the visor and put away 2-3 enemys easy plus with healing field down during the whole ult & you’re good to go. Heaven forbid you get nano boosted could be a potential team wipe

Most good Soldiers don’t use or like using tactical visor since they already have great tracking.

Tactical visor does not aim for the head, making it a disadvantage at times. Good Soldiers can track their enemies and hit the head without the need of an ultimate.

I don’t think there’s ANYONE arguing that this isn’t one of the worst ultimates in the game. I think, unfortunately, most people have just given up on Soldier as he has been completely ignored since release by and large.

That’s the problem there. In lower ranks where people can’t aim, Tac Visor is incredibly strong. Hence, buffing Soldier’s Visor up would essentially make him a stronger DPS than Reaper down there.

I do think it’s ridiculous that Tac Visor is one of those ults that require a lot of damage to build (especially with Soldier’s laughable DPS).

You cant deny it’s a free autoaim kill on a Pharah/ pharmercy duo that is airborne every time…

here is a worse ultimate than TV
pharah gets a giant target on her, any CC cancel her ult, once begins she cant cancel it, she is static

Yep pretty much. At least soldier can self heal, run around, isn’t frozen in open air with no way to cancel, doesnt hurt or kill himself if he ults within 15 feet of anything, doesn’t have to aim, doesn’t have giant spread out leg and wing hitboxes for the animation, has basically infinite range to it, so many more things that make tac visor better

Tact visor is bad because it’s literally just his primary fire on an aimbot, that can’t even head shot.

And the highest dps ult in the game. Yes she will die many times, but can usually kill multiple ppl for her life.

Yeah tactical visor is only decent in low ranks, it’s more or less just a way to clear Mercy/Pharah from the skies. If you have better than average tracking and aiming you can out damage your own Ult landing head shots :rofl:

Deadeye is not really an AOE attack. Its the same as Tac Visor but on a slightly different approach.

I could argue plus boom being good. Yes it can delete a low hp but dont forget tracer can get killed by her own ult
