I’ve never seen any previous hero release have such a lack of info and transparency. Where’s the origin story? Where’s the gameplay trailer? Stuff like this makes me concerned there’s something they don’t want immediately noticed or something…
They want you to log into the game tomorrow.
Not watch a trailer on youtube.
She is probably stright, so they don´t feel like announcing her sexuality, as they did with LW…
Trailer was here posted yesterday I think
She’s paid content and will be released overpowered. No thanks.
i guess for obvious reason: new hero is off topic with pve, real novelty/big content of the season. I strongly suspect that while sojourn obviously suffers from just now getting her short film, ramattra was initially slated to be the hero of the debut null sector missions. thanks, "overwatch 2 “early access” I guess.
I suspect they will release the origin trailer like they did for lifeweaver, i.e. first on the xbox channels and then on the overwatch yt channels. or in any case, during the first week. Xbox has more interest in advertising Illari thanks to its offer that immediately unlocks the new hero.
21 more hours until season 6 surely we can survive with no more info right?
I’m irritated how it’s 1 day until new season and we know nothing about her toolkit beside the trailer.
Has the advertisement team been laid off or something? I thought they gave streamers early access to her to playtest her. They’re usually uploading her toolkit by now.
I hope so. I’d much rather that than another Lifeweaver where you get abuse for playing the new hero.
I got curious so I went and checked when each hero’s origin story was uploaded to youtube and checked how long after the hero became playable.
The shortest time period between a hero’s origin story & them becoming playable was 3 days for Lifeweaver. (longest time period was 31 days for Ramattra, in case you were curious)
I guess their focus is on the story missions and everything else so they chose not to reveal Illari’s origin story yet, but it feels weird to have them break the trend of each hero’s origin story being released at least a few days prior to them becoming playable.
even then, at least a blog post or an infographic showing what this character can do or something lol
So this is their supposed “massive season”? Overpriced and gutted PvE and a hero that nobody knows anything about. Hell, if I wasn’t on this forum, I wouldn’t even know what the new hero looks like to this day.
You have to let this one go. They stated it in passing in the middle of a pretty decently sized dev update. That game ‘journalists’ chose to run with that as the main aspect to focus on was on their profession and not Blizzard, for once.
Check your emails as you might have received a survey. I did mine yesterday; it took a while but it was very concise in what it asked for and enabled plenty of opportunity to type out our feelings on plenty of subjects. If enough people respond similarly, especially with regard to this kind of thing, then it’s possible they might be forced to change things up.
They’re probably traumatized by LW lol
not excusing the lack of information, though, that’s on them ![]()
All the money went to John Cena ![]()
They are clearly wanting to make her OP on release, so why would they be scared she gonna end up like flopweaver
At this point, there was more hype for the legendary skins in events in OW1, because we all know the Art/Design team hard carries Overwatch, than new heroes on release.
Also if they are cutting off resources for the PvE, I doubt they reallocated them to the Cinematics department to create origin stories etc.
Because the problem with Lifeweaver is not that he was too weak. His entire kit is bad and he feels clunky to play. They can give him a 10-fold boost to all his numbers, he will win, but he still won’t be fun to play nor fun to play with. Lifeweaver is a badly designed hero who’s incidentally also badly balanced.
you can’t said that to LW he is our first heterosexual hero HE MUST BE RESPECTED AT ALL COST CUZ HE IS SEXY THEY SAID
From the visual standpoint he really looks very cool. I was really excited for him, but very disappointed with how he turned out
No, they gave that info out too. Bliz knew, what they were doing.
I am less concerned about the lack of details on the new hero as the lack of patch notes.
Like other people said, they probably want to you log in to see the new hero.
But the patch notes… Those don’t have the same log in to find out. It just feels to my like they are making some really bad changes they have not told us about and they know it will cause problems. They hold off the details to the last minute to try and reduce the push back they get. I really hope I am wrong.
