As far as I understand, they are doing 6v6 comp test at the same time as 6v6 classic.
Not sure if they have a single scientist, but that’s like saying we’re testing this new drug but we won’t control for other drugs taken at the same time.
Why would you put up a test where the main thing is that it is 6v6 AND put up another mode that shares that main feature with the risk of splitting the player base between them?
I know 1 is comp and the other isn’t, but it’s just not how you run a test if you want meaningful results.

The 6v6 comp test is meaningless because they dont care about balancing it.
Its OW2 with two more players, who cares? No one. 6v6 advocates dont want OW2 and OW2 players dont want 6v6.

Where does the info come from that this is supposed to happen at the same time?

At least with Perks I can sort of have OW1 Orisa back, but I still miss Supercharger ult.

They said that both were to be this season. There is only half a season left. They can’t really not overlap them now unless they bump one to next season.
I just understood what you mean. They are either 2-3 weeks each or will collide. That’s odd. I’ll hope that not enough players are interested in facing release Brig.
When is the next 6v6 test?

Its perplexing to me as well. They did the same thing during the 1Min 3Max test with Classic going on at the same time. Why they do these 6v6 events simutanously is anybodies guess…

Midseason. Most likely March 18th

I think it’s a test for 6v6 comp interest. If you force 6v6ers into comp, then you won’t know the interest that group has. People will also complain if it’s comp only.
Well, they CAN make them not overlap, but that would make them both really short events, unfortunately.
…It isn’t ideal, but I’ll take the overlap at this point. At least there will be no shortage of 6v6 for me to enjoy. 5v5 is truly miserable.

Same issue with the last OW classic, running it during Drives week then saying not alot of people played it. Yea, because they were flooding Drives to get the bonus comp points.

The Comp 6v6 test is supposed to come this season. I don’t have exact info about OWC in my head, but even if we did, we’re not even halfway through the season yet, as far as I know—so there’s still plenty of time.
Last season, they had two 6v6 tests and OWC at the end of the season, and the 2-2-2 test was even extended.
I wouldn’t worry about it—Blizzard probably knows it makes more sense to run both one after the other rather than at the same time!

is sabotage, they find an excuse to not make it permanent

At this point, 6v6 feels permanent in that its a reoccurring format, even if temporary. Like a seasonal thang.

Aaron making it really hard for himself to beat the conspiracy allegations fr
I can’t even go into those threads talking about how the 6v6 test is rigged to deliberately lower player numbers and simp for Blizzard with the way they’re going about it

It makes their graphs look better in the lowest effort way possible.
They have a problem with the playerbase getting bored of their game quickly and end of season being dead. Therefore, bring all the 6v6 players and 6v6 curious back when player count is low.
I think comp/qp rulesets are also a different playerbase…does anyone out there 50/50 these?
With the lack of balancing they did for 6v6 - pretty much some tank HP reductions - it’s fairly obvious they’re keen on sabotaging the tests so they don’t have to deal with a situation where 6v6 gets enough players to make it a viable option.
Although, they could just lie to us about the number of players anyway since we can’t know. Only what they tell us.

An interesting theory…
Aaron was giving us some confusing percentages in that one writte article written before the premier of “Spotlight”. It would appear that the Devs are trying to convince the fanbase that 5v5 is the most popular mode. But is it thou?
yet they find excuses to not make it permanent, more stupid tests, you konw why 6vs6 is another test mid season? because this season like all prior seasons there is no much incentive to play, there is no content, events, anything, they have to save 6vs6 for later
