Why are we nerfing Sombra when Brigitte is a thing that exists? And Junkrat? Why does Blizzard constantly ignore the actual problems and just nerf heroes that don’t need it in order to lower their skill cap and make them unplayable for the people who mained them in the first place?
because brig and junk don’t need nerfs. and they’re genuinely fixing sombra, rolling back some of the nerfs, so she’s not unplayable in the slightest. skill cap doesn’t matter.

Because it’s not a nerf. It’s a change.
It’s a change for most people. They’re lowering her skill cap and make her more accessible at the cost of being more boring and less potent.
It’s a nerf for Sombra mains.

It is a nerf. You can do less with PTR Sombra than you can with live Sombra. This is only a buff for new players picking her up because they can skip duration management.
But once they hit the point where you need to optimize downtime to be effective they will drop her and realize shes not worth the effort.
They aren’t nerfing Sombra (intentionally anyway). They think they are buffing Sombra, but the community sees it as more nerf than buff.
I have to disagree. I know what you mean and it was my thought as well at the beginning.
You are right at the point where she can’t do what she is doing currently anymore. But that’s because she is not meant to do that anymore. She can do different stuff now.
Is it useful? - depends on what playstyle you prefer.
Most Sombra mains love her current playstyle. Of course, that’s why they are Sombra mains. They don’t like the new playstyle because it is restrictimg them.
But there is nothing the ptr Sombra can’t do that the live one is able to (except contesting in stealth which is included in changing her playstyle).
It’s the same with Sym. Her playstyle completely changed. Some like it. Others don’t. But objectively seen it’s not a nerf by any means. Only restrictions to your personal playstyle.
Its not a different playstyle, its the same playstyle wth options removed from it. You can do and achieve less for the sake of making some stuff easier to pull off.
