Let’s talk about the problem on tank (not besides the buff) : counterwatch
Why so much hate on the counterwatch ?
Good points :
-The game allowed you to switch, not like LOL, R6, call of duty etc…
-If your opponent switches, it means you carry the game and you are dangerous for the game. You should take it as a compliment
-If you don’t switch (the classic Dva - Zarya), you lost the game and create toxicity because you feed your opponent, making the game unfun, for DPS and support
-If you don’t switch, it means the role tank doesn’t fit for you
-You get 12 tanks to play, why not test and playing, during QP, at least ?
-It’s a mindgame too, you have to know how to deal with your opponent. Not only the tank, but the DPS/support too. If you know which player carry the game, you know how to deal (switch or dive)
-You don’t have to fight against tanks, you can go on DPS and support. After all, you should create space, kill the opponent because of bad positionning, not killing the tank only
Bad points :
-Some tanks are not fun to play (Zarya, Winston, Reinhardt etc…)
-You don’t play good (at your level) all tanks. That’s ok, but you can learn 4 max
-6V6 doesn’t resolve counterwatch because you have another issue : synergy, which means unkillable tanks, so unfun games for supports and DPS.
-Balance the game in 6V6 will be complicated, because you have to rework all tanks too (JQ, Mauga, Ramattra etc…)
As a tank player, only one thing is a bad point for counterwatch : playing tanks who don’t like to play (I play Dva and it’s not funny to deal with Zarya, but I accept the rules and I can deal with).
So, why you don’t like counterwatch ? And what issues you can resolve ? And remember, 6V6 doesn’t resolve everything because you have synergy and making fun games for all roles
