Same reason that people call any hero by misspelling their name… because they can… for example, you could also ask why people say:
- Moria instead of Moira
- Gengu instaead of Genji
- Rapper instead of Reaper
- Windowmaker instead of Widowmaker

And so on…
It’s just misspelling of a name that some people think is funny to use.
