Why play Widow when you have Ashe?

Way way easier to hit folks up close or at distance. Better ult. Knockback, etc. Why bother with Widow?

Ashe actually sees a ton of playtime right now. Main reason to go Widow is to diff the enemy Ashe.

Also there’s the very easy solution that you simply play both

Yep, maybe even throw a Cassidy in there for the close quarters maps.

You know there is nothing stopping you from using both, right?

There is a reason Double Shields was mandatory during Double Hitscan WATS meta.

It’s cause they can’t play hanzo the truly superior ranged hero :triumph: at all ranges :muscle:

That was after doomfish was nerfed before that he used to go behind the shield and fist sigma.

Double shield happened cause of many things like sigma bap brig and all their counters nerfed.

Not to mention rq in itself was a problem.

Sym and DF getting nerfed for countering double shields and not being sniper waifus was peak Blizz corporate move.

as someone who enjoys widow here an there (top 3 most played hero)
ashe on the other hand is one of my least liked heroes and least played ones.

Scope on ashe feels not as nice to me, the way you shoot Ashe feel like thered nothing behind the gun compared to widows.

Only reason I would pick ashe is for Bob but then I need to get my ult on her.

Widowmaker has the highest carry potential of any character in the game. Her limits are predominately maps and ability to actually hit things. 1shotting enemies is the most powerful mechanic you can get in Overwatch in a game that bypasses a bunch of defensive mechanics and reactions in the game that keeps most people alive against other enemies. OW has stripped most fast kills in the game after the hp buff in S9.

Widowmaker is almost entirely restricted by the player’s ability to hit stuff and if you can hit stuff, then you can dominate so much more than Ashe. If you can’t aim well enough to do that, then picking Ashe is the next best pick at a noticeable drop off inn the ability to actually secure kills because you REQUIRE a double headshot in most cases.

Widow arguably has the best uncapped potential in the game, but because for most people its so hard to do that she’s been kept relatively in check by people not being good enough to bring out her best potential. Though you will end up in situations where players are bad or an exceptionally good player or aim bot and have the entire lobby ruined and since not many other characters can kill as quickly as her many times the only result is sick the tank on them or another widow.

why shoot twice when i can shoot just once

i lol’d harder than i’d like to admit

Im like you, ashe always feels that weird inbetween widow or Cassidy, i enjoy them both but when I’m playing ashe I’m always like might just go the fullest and play widow.

That said ashe is more generalist and powerful than widow on most maps and scenarios
Also easier.

The idea I guess is to soften people up and then shoot atleast how she used to work with 200hp squishies.

not gonna lie… one of the reason overwatch interested me all those years back…

Easy to answer: The other Damage player already already picked Ashe.

Is this a bait? Widow can oneshot while Ashe can’t.

Last I checked Ashe can’t 1 shot enemies.
