Why play mercy when there is moira?

What does Mercy bring to the table other than Moira?
She can assist a pharah but after all those changes I don’t think there is any reason to pick a Mercy if Moira hasn’t been picked yet

Mercy is the best pocket healer in the game

Also mercy has alot more utility than moira

Mercy is also alot better for teams who are spread out… like at all, there is no reason to pick moira into teams who are not compleatly grouped up

If you find Mercy fun to play (For whatever reason), then why play hero that you may not enjoy as much?

Resurrection, better mobility, better ultimate, damage boosting your DPS to enable 1hks.

Because Mercy has Rez and damage boost.
When utilized well they’re extremely valuable, it’s hard to place a value on Mercy’s ult though since there’s no stats for it in the tab menu. Which is dumb since I’d like to know how effectively I’m using my ults.

You don’t need resurrection if your teammate never dies. Moira’s mobility makes her immune to multiple hard-hitting ultimates. Mercy’s ultimate is not better than Moira’s. It’s a mass heal + damage. Your DPS should be able to kill without damage boost in the first place, and Zen’s orbs are better for that anyway.

Utility and better mobility.

Mercy’s healing is not limited by anything. She doesn’t need to “recharge”.

If you want to be a pocket bot. :man_shrugging:t4:

Utility.

Also mercy is a LOT more fun to play, but that’s just imo.

Why do something when you have another option?

because you want to…?

Mercy can heal forever, while Moira will quickly run out of gas.

Mercy can rez.

Mercy’s healing beam goes through enemy shields, Moira’s gas does not.

Mercy can fly up to heal a Pharah or a Widowmaker

Everyone has their own preference and not everyone wants to play boring META all the time.

That shouldn’t be a problem with feathering.

You should only need to tap left click once every 4 seconds for basic healing. It’s a lingering heal-over-time that should give you 65hp/s in an AOE at virtually no energy cost. Proper feathering will result in gaining energy.

Mercy, on the other hand, heals at 50hp/s to a single target. Even in hard combat, feathering will heal more than what Mercy provides.

DING we have the right answer!
mercy is great for dive-ish teams, whereas moira struggles with teammates that are spread out due to her limitations (range, resource, cooldown)
mercy can zip back and forth, even vertically, thats a huge difference.
also, dive teams need way less healing than bunker or deathball teams,
so mercys “low” 50hps is actually enough to do her job well.

Mercy is way better at assisting the likes of Winston, Wrecking Ball, D.va, Tracer, Genji, Pharah, and Widowmaker than Moira will ever be

So uhh, yeah

Every hero you listed there should have intimate knowledge of health packs. If they’re relying on Mercy to function, there’s something inherently wrong with them.

A Mercy diving in with a Winston or a Wrecking Ball results in a dead Mercy.

Threads like this are always funny. How come threads aren’t made like…

“Why play any other DPS that isn’t Doomfist/Widow/Hanzo?”
