Why overwatch league is falling imho

i guess there are a lot of reasons that probably i don’t know but those 2 below are the most importants to me.

  1. The owl meta is always about 2 patch behind the current meta and it’s really boring to me to watch.

  2. I noticed that a lot of people in ranked doesn’t even care anymore about playing seriously because i think below the 4.1k the competitive games al litteraly random and people just play for fun. (i have an account on 3.8k and another one on 4.3) so why people should be interested on watching competitive events?

:I Wut.
You can both play seriously and have fun at the same time, lol.
It’s not like they have to be different things.
I’m not really sure why you came to this conclusion.

I really think OWL league should be played with the latest patch, always. Like this, i feel like we are the lab rats, Blizzard testing new patches on the community that buys the game.

i wrote that people play just for fun so they don’t play serious. you can play for fun and serious at same time but these days people only play for fun.

It’s gonna fall even more when Brig goes live. I will be one of the many who will straight out boycott it.

Oh wow, I didn’t realize you had asked every single person who played Overwatch!
Wow, you must have a lot of time on your hands.

Are…are we going to ignore the fact that OWL is making bank? It’s blown all expectations out of the water, and according to some people it is making more money than LCS.

OWL has helped Overwatch as much as it has hurt it.

It’s needed to be fair to the teams. Imagine in Week 1 Houston fought Philly before Brigitte was added and Houston loses. Week 3 comes around and SHD fight Philly, but now Brigitte is in the game, SHD win because of this. Suddenly the stage is no longer fair to the players because things have changed. To keep each stage even and fair to all players they have to stay on a single patch.

I understand why the stages aren’t played on the most recent patch, but it would be nice if it was better timed and coordinated. It is only the first season and it is still growing, maybe next season things will be a bit closer and organized. Other than that I think the league is great, I love watching it and I think it is something we should be constructively supporting. I don’t know why we as a fan-base would want to see this fail, I don’t imagine many people want the NHL or NBA to fail

Fair enough… but i also agree with CreamFraiche

This will actually be the breaking point. If Brig destroy’s the OWL meta, she will be hotfixed.

I’m entertaining the thought that they intentionally didn’t put her to competitive so that they don’t have time to balance her so that they ensure that she goes overtuned to Stage 4.

Why? that was her purpose to create a new meta…

There is a difference between creating a new meta by countering other hero’s, and creating a new meta by being fundamentally overtuned.

Bash, Whip Shot, and an E that saves someone who is being dove, counters Genji, Tracer, and Winston.

Her Ult, and the rate at which she can Bash, were introducing issues across the board.

I’m not some reactionary Genju main either. I want balance.
