To summarize, you have two rating systems: CP(ranked) and MMR(everything)
If your CP is lower than your MRR, you gain more per win and lose less per loss
And vice versa if CP is higher than MMR
Of course, this is assuming either a 1:1 scale or some sort of conversion
Also, you’d need to have multiple values for each role, but you already have this
Then again, I’d also have to consider whether there could be a fundamental problem with how MMR is currently calculated

Overwatch players are more fragile and many would cry when they find out they’ve been getting carried to ranks they don’t belong at this whole time.

This is how it is working…
Numbers are just hidden from you and it gives you a rank based on your “CP” (called here SR)
Group MMR is a thing, so they probably are also using something like this. Or were. Maybe less these days. But I know group MMR is still alive and well.
Only on paper though.
Wins have much bigger impact.
Even with the old system you get ~20 sr per win on old account with max of 1-5 sr individual performance added to it. So you need to steamroll for 4 games straight just to get the equivalent sr of a single win.
Valorant is a very well thought out game from the ground up. If you hard carry by top fragging and win, you get tons of RR. If you bottom frag but get carried by your team and win, you don’t get as much RR.
So unlike Overwatch, you can afford to lose dozens of games and barely lose your ranking if you consistently top frag every match. It’s hard to have a system like this in Overwatch because different roles and heroes have different ways of providing value.

Well not having a skill based aspect to it any more doesn’t help….but I think blizz would do a lot for themselves if they just showed the numbers again…the whole “it’s hidden cause people feel bad when they see it drop” nonsense needs to go….
Rub it in their face and let them deal with it
