Why not try 6v6 with the final OW1 patch

Whatever patch was live on October 3rd 2022, bring that back, with the only changes kept from OW2 being the out of combat healing passive, reworks that existed to nerfs CC (cassidy, mei, brig, sombra), and some of the QoL buffs (rein cancelling charge, mercy easy superjump, ball retract grapple, etc.). Then add in sojourn and Venture as is now, the OW2 maps as is, the OW2 supports with some minor nerfs, and the OW2 tanks with some bigger nerfs. This wouldn’t be perfect, there’d still be issues, but I think it’d be enjoyable than the current 6v6 test and a good starting point for fixing the game.

So… not at all the final OW1 patch?

The only 6v6 that can work is a borderline OWC classic version at this point.

Too many small gears in the machine have been broken down intentionally in the name of meta enforcing what is popular.

Tanks were bad then, too.

How about we try 6v6 2-2-2 with 2017-era Tanks as a base + the extra abilities and role passives (for all roles) as originally announced in 2021?

Strong defenses, good QOL changes. No antiheal passive. Less CC. Now that would be a good start.

The entire reason why tank shortage happened by the end of OW1 was that tanks had been nerfed for the crime of countering snipers and flankers, yeah.

We will get there but there is still a full year ahead to stall for first.

I know, right?

this is why people say the devs never give them what they want right?

Because they sit on buzz words that don’t really mean the thing they actually want.
