Edit: I’ve reconsidered how this might not exactly be the best thing for Quick Play, but for arcade modes that are a lot less popular which don’t still to the usual Overwatch formula (Mystery Heroes, Total Mayhem, No Limits, etc.), I still feel as though it would be best to avoid Reinstancing.
In less competitive modes such as Quick Play and some Arcade modes (eg. Mystery Heroes), it happens so frequently that a game ends, people leave and the next games starts ‘Waiting for Players’, which more often than not ends up Reinstancing and just kicking you out to find a new game.
I don’t think this would be too bad if one team had 2 players and the other team had 5, or there was 6 people total in the game (3v3 or less). But this happens so often when the game starts off at 4v4 or even 5v5. Why not just let the game play out and keep searching for players to join?
It’s not as if it isn’t fair and would save so much time for so many people if they could just jump straight in to another game.

So if I understand…
If one game has 2v2, it could start.
If it had 3v2, it could not start? I don’t agree with this one.
No, I’m saying if the teams are mostly full, why not start? I did say if it was only like 6 people in the game, I see why it wouldn’t start… That’s why I specified 4v4 and 5v5
Because OW is based on 6v6, and all the strategies and team comps would be messed up.
Don’t forget maps, the maps are designed for 12 players.

It’s way funnier to go back and forth from menu to reinstancing 3 times in a row instead.

I see your point for Quick Play. I notice it most in Mystery Heroes though, which also has longer wait times if you get kicked out. Realistically how long will it take to find two more people? Probably not as long as ‘Waiting for Players’…‘Reinstancing’…‘Searching for Game’, which couldn’t easily take over five minutes on less popular modes.
I just wish the timer for the “waiting for players” match would last longer than several seconds. I don’t mind running around in a skirm lobby while we wait for 1-2 more people. But don’t disband the lobby after waiting 15 seconds. I’m going to have to wait longer if we all get kicked and thrown back into a queue.

Woo-hoo! Only 5 DPS per team then!

Oh I don’t know about reinstancing. I don’t even know how that works. I was just saying that starting a game 4v4 or 5v5 would mess up a lot of what people have learned about the game.
Longer wait times would be good too. Skirmish wouldn’t be so bad if you didn’t get kicked out the instant you saw the enemy.
You’re really keying in to the whole ‘other less-popular modes such as Mystery Heroes’ thing. I’ve considered how it wouldn’t work as well for Quick Play after previous comments.
Mystery Heroes, No Limits, Total Mayhem, also mess up a lot about what people have learned about the game, and they’re the biggest issues haha. I’ll edit my post now that I’ve reconsidered Quick Play to make it for Arcade based
What I always wonder is why This happens.
When you just won a round, and your about to play the next one, you choose your hero but there is no timer because some people left. You now have like 30 seconds before it sends you to the menus unless some people join. If someone joins, you will be brought back to the hero selection screen with the timer👍
What I’m wondering is, why does it send you back to the menus? Why not just wait for people to join, like skirmish. Why does it send you back to the menu when one guy is missing Instead of just waiting for someone to show.

Keeping it in Skirmish would be infinitely more enjoyable than being kicked out to the menus. Searching again is just you looking for more people which could have joined that original game in the first place!

Especially if your like me, and just finished attacking on a map and want to defend😂
My main issue is just the wait times. I play Mystery Heroes to mess around with whatever’s thrown at me. Don’t take it too seriously and just have a fun time. But because there’s less people playing, the wait times are longer.
I played three games yesterday and I had to wait about 4 minutes between each one before 2 or 3 people left
Just doesn’t seem necessary for a game mode designed to be a little random.
This was kinda my angle, but at least Quick Play is TRYING. Trying it’s best to be what Overwatch ‘should’ be.
I think the stupidest thing is when you join a skirmish server. And that server ends after 30 minutes. For you to be sent to another skirmish server. Or when a friend joins your group. Sometimes it kicks you out of skirmish. All for it to do, is go back into skirmish. Can skirmish servers just stay on, sheesh.

If games just started with a little less restriction, I doubt this would be as much of an issue
