Many of you probably played or heard of paladins. That free to play hero shooter they have more heroes than overwatch but what I liked in that game is that every hero has specific skins voice… like their version of torb have a pirate skin with an actual pirate voice… every command you say will be in that pirate voice unlike overwatch when only a few lines are different… imagine the valk mercy skin has a voice pack of a battle ancient mercy that would be epic lol… if paladins can do it then why can’t you? I think adding different hero voice packs to legendary skins will make people more motivated to grind and open tens and tens of boxes not just for cosmetics but for a fresh new character voice
There is a large difference in quality.
Paladins has local actors
OW uses international actors.
Mei VA literally lives in China
Ana VA literally lives in the Middle East
Brigette VA literally lives in Sweeden
Widow VA - I think is also in France?
While Paladins does hire some Talented VA’s they also have a set amount of lines and the job is done. No new lines are ever added it is just the same 20ish lines.
OW Though continuously keeps adding new content which means bringing back multiple VAs for the part just to update a single line.
Logistically wise it would be a nightmare.
It would not be worth the trouble for the VA or Blizzard.
Does paladins have all their voice lines in every language it’s been localized in too? I’m just asking cause I don’t know. I’m always impressed at how many languages it’s been localized in .
Some Overwatch character’s talk differently in different skins:
-
Torb: “Ahoy maties” (hello) when equipped with pirate skin.
-
Zen: “Experience oblivion” (ult) when equipped with cultist skin.
It would be cool but voice lines are already unlockables.
This is the worst argument ever.
If you like the way Paladins is doing it, why don’t you play Paladins?
I’d love if different skins had different voices/effects.
I.e. Gabriel Reyes sounds like, well, Gabriel Reyes. Pre-Cyborg Genji sounds like an actual human rather than a robot.
It’d be pretty cool.
